Kaylie86 wrote:Hey! I've tried to do a lot of research on which springs to get so I'd be getting the height that I wanted but I'm getting mixed information. I was told that King Springs would lower it; they don't. I was told Pedders springs would; they also don't. Now a guy from Pedders told me I can't legally lower my car any further because of something to do with the strut length.. or somethingI havn't lowered my Liberty before; it's at its original factory-lowered height.
I would consider coilovers if I absolutely had to but I'm wanting the cheaper option of springs coz I'm not taking it to the track or anything.
Any help would be great! Thanks

Teins or STi's will drop it also. How much drop do you want?

You will be able to find non-pedders workshops who will go as low as you like, it's up to you whether you want to go lower than what is legal.
If you get really low springs on stock struts the struts will be compressed a lot all the time. So you will have less travel and your ride will be quite poor.

I've just put Kings on the front and it didn't lower it at allAfter talking to the guys at King they're saying that the GT's come 'factory lowered' and they're springs only lower it to that same level. They say they don't make anything that will lower it further. Same as what Pedders said. And yeh I agree they're rip offs.
I'm thinking the Tein S Techs may be the way to go but idk what that guy from Pedders was on about. He said if it was lowered any further itd be illegal, not because of how low the car would be but something to do with.. bumpstops maybe..
I don't want it crazy low, I think 30mm lower will be about enough. I havn't actually looked up the STI's yet.
mynameisdaniel wrote: Are you in SA by any chance? Our laws are different for lowering than most of Aus AFAIK. Don't quote me on this but there's something about only reducing the travel of your suspension by a third or some amount, if you email/call the vehicle modifications department of Trasnport SA they'll give you the smallest legal hub to guard distance allowed.
