Hey Ric, just heard about this from Owen before seeing as I've been flat out with school n work and henceforth slack in checking what's going on here. I'll be a late inclusion and will join the Dalton rd Caltex premeet. Do we have a confirmed time yet or still deciding on the later start?

Well there's a change of plans for me on Sunday.
The cruise is still on, but I won't be in my Liberty. It went back to Subaru on a tow truck tonight.
The wheel that had the new CV joint installed yesterday was making funny noises. When I pulled on the wheel to see if the bearing was ok, the whole wheel slid in and out a centimetre!
I took the wheel off, and could see the rotor and hub were now sliding in and out.
Dropped it back to the dealer at 7pm, so they can't look at it until Monday morning.

As if they're not open Saturdays! I would have asked for a loan car and thrashed that on the cruise hehe.

How in earth could the hub be sliding in and out? Did they forget to put the balljoint back in? Surely the LCA would prevent ANY in and out movement, even if the driveshaft wasn't clipped into the tranny or loose axle nut? Weeeird... The shaft will have a bit of play from the tripod style inner joint but shouldn't be that noticeable!

I most certainly told them I expected a loan car!
They said they'd leave a key for one with the sales staff, so I could come back on Sat morning and pick it up. That would have been a couple of taxis and lots of mucking around, but as it turned out, there were still two of the sales staff there at 7pm, so I got the loan car last night. Just a base model Forester.

Just as well, the MG club have an "Introduction to motorsport" day on today, and I had all the radios, batteries and timing equipment in my car.

Now I'm having lunch in Marysville. We're most of the way through a great cruise. The borrowed Forester is staying ahead of the Liberty's with a bit of enthusiastic encouragement

Sorry to miss this one, but just got home at midday after a week away. Jet Lag + Drive = Not a happy ending!!!

Anyway, looks like a good turn out and reasonable weather, warm enough to wear thongs on top of Donna Buang Lookout!!!

There was a VERY chilly breeze as soon as we got out of the cars at Donna Buang.
I don't know how Brian coped. He claimed his feet were warm. Looked more like frostbite to me!

My first club liberty cruise and the first time really testing out the awd, really impressive feel of the car.

But great choice of route and cheers to Ric for being so organised.

Couldn't agree more... Ric had it so well organised it kept the day flowing nicely. Just need a way to control the stray dogs from making us lose 3 cruisers!
