Kiaora,

Found this site today while looking for a bit of advice online.

Bought my Liberty yesterday, a 2004 MY05 2.5l Liberty Sedan in silver. I'm already very impressed with how it sticks to the road and how quickly it can turn from quite cruiser to go cart.

Not my first Subaru, in fact my first ever car was a first generation 1.8lmi Legacy (back in NZ) sedan, my second Subaru was a second generation Legacy RS sedan. In between my Subarus I have owned a boring as bat shit Mazda and a pocket rocket Peugeot 205 Gti, but I keep coming back to Subarus.

If any other members are in Perth I would appreciate advice on a trustworthy and quality Subaru specialty mechanic south of the river.

Cheers,

Dan

Coyote - Your username is dam cool too.

I know its nothing special with all the stunning GT's, SpecB's, and 3-R's that are on here but i thought I would post some images I got of my new car

As above i Picked it up two nights ago. Its got 78k on the clock now with a full Subaru service history, some kind soul decided to the the timing belt early which is great but neglected to do the water pump while they were in there.

To do list.........

Cosmetic,

- New rear bumper as the current is defiantly show its age;
- New wing mirrors (does anyone have any experience getting these? Where would be the best place to start my search, Subaru Dealer? Wrecker? or International?;
- Angel eye/Halo headlights - I've seen a few of these on some car on here and they look fantastic, are they a custom job?;
- Fix dent on left rear panel;
- Buff miscellaneous scratches;
- New wheels.

Interior;

- New Speakers;
- New stereo (is this possible without looking really average given the inbuilt unit it so large, I would love something with i-pod connectivity);
- Fix the broken interior clock/trip computer - I've read this is a common issue and tips on this?

Mechanical;

- Need to get the Clutch and Flywheel done. It makes a horrendous screeching noise if I try to take of too quickly or get the clutch balance wrong;
- Water pump at some point soon.

Tuning;

- No idea what can be done with these engines, is it worth spending time on or would my money be better spent saving for a 3.0R or GT?

Long term i would love to get a GT wagon but very happy with my sedan for now.

Also I have tomorrow off with FA to do so does anyone have any good day drives I could do around Perth tomorrow, I only moved here and February and up until now I have not had a car.

Cheers,

Dan

Welcome Daniel, great to see more people coming along in WA.

Re mechanic South of river - Definitely STechnic.

http://www.stechnic.com.au/

Tuning wise - Theres Kido Tunes and Xtreme Racing (forum vendors).

Kido may be able to help but it depends on your ECU.

d_chang (Daniel) can shed some light on that.

Enjoy forum-ing :)

Daniel:

Once you are settle, you can concentrate on what you need to make the care perfect to what you want.

Your car looks very clean. Welcome :D
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!
