Rims for MY05 GT

Postby MishaGT » Fri Mar 14, 2008 10:33 am

Sup Lads,

I have fallen in love with these rims:

Oz Racing Super Turismo GT

http://www.ozracing.com/at-team/wheels/ ... ismo-gt/en

I have chased up these rims and the cheapest I can get them for is 1300$ PER RIM!!! LOL I can't justify spending this kind of money on wheels!

Could anyone help me out and find Rims similar to these? Im really after 19s!

Cheers,
Misha

Where are you looking and what size? The price I got quoted was about $500-600 per wheel.

Sup Lads,

I actually rung Oz Racing! They did give me a Dud Price as I just got off the phone to Bob Jane and they can get this rim for 620$ although he said they can only fit 18s on my car for legal load rating! He also said that 18's would stick out by around 10mm so i would have to flare my guards can anyone confirm / deny?

I saw Explicit's rims and they look similar to something im after!

19 x 8.5 Advan Connoisseur 151c's
235/35/19 tyres

Is the above set up legal ?

Cheers,
Misha

Misha,
Bob Jane are talking sh1t. The right offset will not stick out by 10mm.

Yeah I'm pretty noob at this wheel fitting biz, I don't really understand about offsets, tyres sizes and how it relates to what wheels I can fit on my car! lol

Does anyone know a brisbane supplier to get Advan Connoissuer 151c's?

From what I heard, they're not easy to find.

Mine is MY05GT as well.

2 size up should be legal, well in the both NSW and VIC, not sure about where you are.

How about Rays Volk RE30?

There's actually no legislation on how many sizes up from stock as being legal. As long as you don't alter the overall diameter (outer edge of tyre) by more than 15mm, then you're still legal.

Well not really, because anything in NSW that is not standard, is technically "illegal", but were not getting into this again hahha

MishaGT I thought you didn't want to spend the money on wheels?

You stated you wanted the Advans? Do you have a spare $3600 JUST for the wheels, and then tyres?

 Thought not

VicRoads has a vehicle modification guide.

See section 8, wheels and tyres (page 3).

NSW is different Tangcla!

Different legislation for different states. We dont all live in VIC!

From what i can remember NSW can get away with 2 sizes up from standard. But then again Mick should know better! So its left up to the discretion of the police officer.
