Now to decide on mild steel or stainless... Best Mufflers have both in stock, but the stainless is $200 dearer. That $200 could go towards tuning I guess :)

I went through this debate a while back when deciding.

Stainless Steel
    Slightly raspier note
Will last forever, will most definitely outlast the car's life
Mild Steel
    Slightly deeper/bassier note
Wont last forever, but this kit comes powdercoated to provide longer lasting protection which will see it last longer than the car's life

So, i made up my mind and went with the mild steel kit :) im rather happy with it and knowing that it has that extra protection too is handy knowing

Good info thanks Simon :)

The pics you posted of the mild steel sytem look like really good quality. I think it will do fine for what I'm after. SS is nice for the bling factor, but am on a bit of a budget with this one. I'll update my own thread once I settle on everything.

have you thought of going for a larger diameter pipe or is that the only size xforce offers? Im running a 2.75 inch pipe, although i have aftermarket headers and the 3rd cat delete you were talking about. I also kept the resonator / center muffler and it does not drone at all. Sounds raspy and is not very loud, nice cruising sound @ 2.2k RPM although with WOT it does change alot... :) you can always get a smaller resonator or delete it if you wanted it louder too

Just added the X Force Centre and Y pipe to my system tonight, combined with the ES Premium rear end it gives it quite a deep idle and a very raspy top end..

Can't speak more highly of Best Mufflers too.. $220 for the centre and Y pipe plus $25 for delivery, bought Friday, shipped Monday, arrived Tuesday. Took me about 30 minutes to fit and the rear mufflers are still pretty even too which was my biggest concern...

All in all, very happy 8)

That's what I thought, I got quoted $475 from X Force themselves, it's only coated mild steel but for that price I couldn't argue..

I didn't really do much research into the stainless centre section as I'm still toying with the idea of supercharging down the track so really just wanted a "quick, cheap fix" for a little extra note in the interim..

Best Mufflers complete cat-back stainless system is $695 + freight, compared with the mild steel system which is $495 + freight. So I'd guess you'd probably be looking around the $350 mark for the stainless centre section ? but don't quote me... lol

$275 is what I paid earlier in the year for the Xforce stainless centre and Stainless Y pipe section from Best Mufflers.
