The legal limit is 90dB for vehicles built post 1986. It is tested by placing the dB meter 1 meter away from the rear of the vehicle at exhaust outlet height and the car being revved to 75% of the tacho redline. The measurement includes recording from idle to the assigned RPM (75% of redline) and from the assigned RPM back to idle.

There are some ways to alter the assigned RPM. For example as my car has internal engine mods (stroker etc) I was able to determine my own redline therefore my stationary noise test was completed at 3000RPM, which is how it is listed on my engineers cert. I was however subject to conduct a full EPA test including engine emissions test etc to be able to do this.

legal is 91db...dylanf shame you got lost you stooge and we didnt get that reading on video as yours is right on at 91.5 or something like that of memory
