Hi to all

Introduce yourself

Hi to all

Postby LorrenK » Sat Oct 13, 2012 6:04 pm

Name: Lorren Kaeding. People call me Loz, which I'm not a fan of. Old friends call me Ren, Kaddz or just Lorren.
Ride: MY09 Liberty GT B.Spec 6sp wagon.
Location: Near Newcatle, NSW
Mods: MRT XA stage 1 ECU tune. Parrot MKi9200 Bluetooth phone/iPod kit
Plans: Memphis 12" slimline subwoofer. STi shift kit. Strut brace. Mild extractor and dump pipe mods (maybe)
Occupation: Medical Resident
Year born: I'm 24
Interest: Tennis, hockey, yacht racing, gadgets and tech toys. Shoes and shopping.
Previous Rides: Mum's old liberty RS when I got my Ps. Then a liberty GX (97) that I had a JDM RSK twin turbo engine and drivetrain swap done on. I also had an AE86 Trueno that was my 'toy' for drifting, gymkhanas and road rallies. Then came an E30 bimmer 3series with about 50k worth of engine, turbo and running gear spent on it by the ppl I bought it from. Being a euro car older than I was it soon became too expensive to maintain, so next came a good ol 01 Liberty GX wagon which saw me thru uni and is much-loved still. And now it's my current MY09 GTB

Nice to meet you all : )

Welcome Lorren. Don't read too many threads around here or you'll get some bad ideas.

Benny I don't recall the H6 GT model :-)

Me neither :P
Informing the OP that aftermarket headers are reputed to be a backwards (less response) step on a mostly stock GT-B.
Probably the last bit of the zorst to change after doing everything including a big turbo.

Lorren: are you happy with the tune: Is the car responsive and predictable?

I'm more than happy with the tune. It's responsive, smooth, no flat spots and of course, fast! The previous owner took immaculate care of the car.
The tune he had done was to get rid of a flat spot in the torque that is (apparently) common Aus delivered GTs, and a little bit of a boost, err, boost. I have no idea of the specifics, nor have I driven any other GTs to compare it to, but its up there with tbSTi's

I know MRT have a bit of a bad rep of late, but for this light level tune I'm perfectly happy with it. The only thing I miss is the sound. I'd Ike just a hint of the old boxer sound again. That and it doesn't have anywhere near the steering feel and feedback of my old GEN3 lib GX. Any ideas on that side of things?

Haha, yes sometimes. I see it as Lauren on letters all the time, and I get the double-take when I spell it out.
It's what you get when slavic parents think it would sound exotic to give their kids english names and not really think it through fully.. And then actually move to australia where it's not so exotic anymore... :|

It's something different tho, so I like it :)

The aforementioned photos.
I don't have a name for her yet... Usually my car names are just derivatives of the make. I've had Suupi, Biim, Haachi. The name that seems to be sticking so far is Scub which doesn't really suit, but it's been stuck in my head for a while now and may end up sticking.

Yeah, I've seen Loren with the doubledots over the o, but that's a boy's name so I'm glad they at least got the spelling phonetically correct lol
