haha, ok :P
I fitted the STi quad-tip exhausts on my car and got negligible gains, nothing noticeable. Nice note though! :)

Ecutek is just a piece of software.

It sounds like suby11 has a good result, noting that a good result is more than just a peak power figure.

Remember that there's no guarantee that another tuner using the same software will do as good a job.

Agreed that the skill in the Tune is the tuner not the software but we have a company over here calld Maximum motor sports which I've heard good things about. Was originally going to get the Verso tune as it is half the price but they are not doing it for the SI drive cars that I am aware of.

Why because it would be gospel or bullsh!t?

No reference to if it improved spool up time or not though. Dyno is NOT the be all and end all

On a MY07GT I got about 10kw from a Hitech Cat Back system, the only other mod was a HKS Panel filter which would give minimum kw gains. Include a down pipe and the result will be even more.

I personally didn't notice anything from the Hitech mufflers, although sounding nice.

However I got the Hitech dump pipe today and woah, what a difference, the car is so much more responsive now. Should have been one of my first mods

Mufflers wont give you gains, cat back should give you little gains, but with a dump that will open up your system.

You sure Mick? I thought it was you who said you couldnt justify $1000+ for a 1 metre piece of metal???

Do you mean for the tune, or the offtopic discussion re: downpipe?

Bumping it back up to find out if anywhere else in Brisbane is a certified ECUtek reseller/tuner?

Any other experiences with ECU reflashes by performance shops in Brisbane...

I've been told that APC at Underwood are going to be reflashing Lib ECU's in the coming weeks.

I have an ECUtek myself & I'm looking to do more mods etc. I have been told by more then one place that the exhaust system is not the most restrictive thing on the standard GT's.

This is what has been suggested to do first:

1) - Change TMIC
2) - Pod / CAI

Then exhaust + retuning etc etc etc. Word is the exhaust isn't that restrictive as standard (But it has no note!) while running the stock turbo.

I'm no expert but I can appreciate that significant gains won't be found until the front pipe & cat are replaced. Cat back systems should give a gain on a turbo car as it reduces the back pressue, but I doubt it would be a little as 1kw. Especially combined with a full dyno tune.

Cheers
Matty
