Cruise control surging problem..?

Hi there,
Just bought a MY06 3.0RB 6MT and all is going great except when cruise control seems to "surge" when activated, kind of like if you were lightly giving a accellerator pedal a press every second. The tacho and speedo dont move at all - pretty odd...?

Have given the old google a hiding having a look - a forum post mentioned that it is a "known issue" - want to know if this is the case or not? Talked to Subaru and they will happily disgnose at a rate of $130 per hour, surprising that? But dont really want to waste money if this isnt fixable. No other engine lights or anything else is amiss.

Any thoughts from anyone?

Also doesnt seem to like "full lock" in the steering - feels like something is rubbing - maybe this is normal.
Any advice from anyone on these issues would be appreciated as well as any do's or do nots regarding this model (apart from the obivous stuff, ie: ill try not do ant 6k launches)

It's all in the stock Subaru tune.
Throttlehappy (aka Matt @ KiDo Racing) gave an easy to understand explaination.
I hope you don't mind me passing on the information Matt.

Cruise control system has a large 'angle of attack' on the throttle and accelerator which makes maintain a constant speed(and constant boost) very difficult



This is the stock accelerator pedal... 800rpm and 0% accelerator pedal is the blue dot, you can see the sudden 'ramp up'
