Gen 5 Wagon Drop..

Guys I want to drop the Liberty Wagon a little. It looks like a Forester how much gap there is from the tire to the guard!

What's the best way to do this without spending a mint!? I'm in the Marrickville area, don't really want to go to far either... Am i asking for too much??

find some factory SpecB Bilstiens
you'll get 10-15mm lower and much better handling,
Someone can confirm if the gen4 and gen5 units are interchangable

otherwise some KiDo Racing Coilovers are a good option too

if you can specify what amount you define as "a mint", we can provide a bit more clarity for you

Sti springs will drop by about 10-15mm, and tein springs will go even lower. Choice of springs down to personal preference, but also consider whether you will go bigger/wider rims in future too

Re source and fitment, I had phat installed mine (see garage88). He's out at prospect way, past Parramatta.

There should be closer installers if distance is problem.

Cheapest option is hacksaw.
Or if you want really cheap just buy the blade.

For more money, lower springs.

Or a bit more again for coilovers.

You should be able to find a lot of pics around here in terms of how low different springs are on libs.

I was a bit vague wasn't I?

I bought a set of KW V2 Coilovers for my Audi S3 Sports Back. I spent approx $1900-$2000 total including install and shipped fro the UK. I don't want to spend that much. Maybe $400-$800??

I was thinking just Springs for The Liberty. Do you recon the Teins will be lower than the 10-15 mm of the Sti's? Say 20mm.
I'm not going to track it so I recon the springs will do. If the Price difference isn't too much more, I might opt for the Spec B Beilsteins...

Hey mate,

Nice to see some Gen V topics. Phat from Garage 88 installed the Tein springs on my Gen V Wagon and it drops the car about 20-25mm from memory. Looks heaps better and the ride has a nice balance, not too firm or soft, for everyday driving.
With the stock wheels, i dont have a problem getting in and out of my steep driveway. Highly recommended I can send some pics to you later during the week. PM me.
