Ah - didn't see it in the pic, yes - that's a wear marker.

The adapter wouldn't normally be there, so if it doesn't fit with the adapter, then put that pad on the outside. It's not a drama - it's just that by the time you hear the wear marker on the outside, you may have very little pad left on the inside, that's all, but you should be regularly checking the pads with each service anyway.

I can see what looks like a Kartboy adapter in the pic on your rear caliper. It looks like this:

The adapter is needed for attaching Brembo rear calipers to a car that never had Brembo's to begin with because of the difference in caliper and bolt position on the hub.

Mine are very similar to that except mine do not have that washer/spacer...
So I just need to make a little notch where those marks are and it all fits nice n snug??

There are variants of the Kartboys out there - yours do look very similar.

The notches in the adapter are only half the story. All that does is allow the adapter to fit snugly against the caliper. You'll then have to grind some metal off around the mounting points on the car itself to allow the adapter's bolt holes to line up with the hub's holes.

The main issue is that the Karboy's and variants were originally designed for Impreza's, not Liberty's. Mark (cruisn)'s custom made adapters are a much better fit with no grinding necessary at all, but you may as well continue with the ones you have now since you have them.

Hey guys sorry to dig up an old post...

But I'm fitting my rear rotors to my 08 GTB and they don't really fit perfect, they foul on the back stop lip (I'm assuming the purpose for this is to stop dirt, grim etc from collecting on the rear rotor??)

Is it ok to cut the lip part of the back stop off??

I have one photo and can upload to illustrate if needed...

Thanks heaps for your help!!!

It's the rear that creates all the kerfuffles. The front is easy.

Which way were you going with the handbrake? DBA's custom made rear rotor to suit the normal soes or modified handbrake shoes to suit the STi rotors?

It's the stock handbrake but the rotor is DBA2657S

Ok so it's all on (front and rear rotors, front and rear calipers)
Had a few issues like what was brought up about the back stop earlier, and these calipers are 2nd hand but still I was told they where 'professionally' repainted if that is the case I hope the person I brought these off didn't pay anything as that is the WORST 'professional' job I have ever seen... And also who ever has done any work on these does NOT touch another mechanical part EVER AGAIN!!!! As one of the bolts and holes where threaded, I needed to retap them :angry2:
And also the braided lines you gave me are WAY TO LONG not sure what sort of car these are for but anyway...

But all that aside it's all on and I have just started/finished bedding the brakes in..
And they are squealing a fair bit at 20kms and lower, not sure if that's because of the new pads or what it's from but I suspect it will go in time...

Thanks heaps for all your help guys!!
And a speacial thanks to mark (cruisin) for the swift postage on his rear adapters!!
