07 gt spec b issue

Postby guyzi75 » Tue Sep 18, 2012 8:23 am

Hey guys I'm new to the forum as I just picked up my spec b gt Aug 07.
I have noticed a knocking / banging noise coming from front lhs when I turn right into corners.
It seems to get more prevalent the longer I drive.
Has any one had similar issues any ideas on what it could be?
Other than this the car is awsome
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Have the lower control ar bushes checked. The factory rubber ones can split.
Drop some aftermarket ones in if they need replacing.

Edited for poor grammar.
CURRENT - ATP GTX 3576 - 22psi - 283.7awkw
OLD - Dom 1.5Xtr - Last dyno 254ahkw, previous 238ahkw, first 224awkw.

To sum up again - check everything from the subframe bolts to the struts' topnut and bolts to mfg torque settings.
Then check the grease in the strut, or check the coilovers for binding or even wheel bearings. Then report the issue and solution here :D

All of the above is correct.
If your not mechanically minded/dont have the tools, or the time, or just CBF.
Goto pedders for a $14 28point safety suspension check(or whatever the fark its called)

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM, pedders are all bull at triple the price, but the check is a cheapy.

I was researching Lib related stuff (thrust bearings for coil-overs) and even found a reference to the radiator sub-frame being loose!
So there's nothing at all wrong with doing a very thorough check of the entire front end.

Had this with mine and the master bolt on the strut was slightly loose. Tightenened and fixed. All gone

Had a mechanic look over it today,
The only thing he could find was the tie rod end was a bit loose.
I think I might have to give it a good look over on the weekend will let you know how I go.

I looked at the car over the weekend and as I'm not mechanically
minded all I could do was check the Lhs front end Bolts but they were all good.
As the car is still under 3 mth stat warranty it is booked in with a scooby mech this Wednesday.
Hopefully he will find the source and fix it.
Will let you know the outcome.
Cheers guys.

Hey guys sorry for the late reply
I read on the forum somewhere something about the grease put in the at the factory
Being average so I jacked up the car lifted up the black boot and sprayed some lithium grease on it.
Can you believe it no more knocking.will have to get te grease replaced when I have the spare cash. :D
