Hello from Canberra

Hey Everyone

I'm Josh, 23, actually from Queanbeyan...

Just bought my first subaru a couple months ago, a MY07 liberty tuned by STI. After lurking aorund this site for quite sometime thought I might sign up.

I must say I love the liberty, its a real joy to drive. My previous car which I still need to get rid of is a 1999 mitsubishi magna sports, it was a great car and
served me well through my uni years.

First thing I did was change the chrome grill to carbon fibre one of ebay which looks alright but will have to fork out the cash later for a decent one. I'm also
planning to get the wheels blackened, and maybe further down the track do something about the exaust. Haven't decided if I prefer the quiet stock exhaust yet.

Thanks guys

Not the best photographer, but these are some pics I took when I got it home for the first time.

Welcome Josh... Very nice clean car there!

Any Mods already done on the car or any plans? The more you are on here the more you will fine... Tunes look very tempting for me but waiting on warranty to run out.

Thanks, just the grill, looking to get the wheels powdercoated black. I really like the black on black look thats going around.

The warranty dilema is my main concern as well, so may have to hold out until that runs out, another 3 years or 80000km if i can wait that long.

Welcome!

If your after a quality mechanic then mic and josh at Techworkz in tuggers are your guys, probably know Subarus better then anyone else in Canberra and are a cheaper option compared to the stealaship :)

Is yours a auto or manual?

Welcome! Cannot go wrong with a black STI. :D
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

There is also ESP in Queanbeyan if you need something closer.

Good to know, cheers. I was looking around for a good place to take the subaru in, not particularly keen to take into a 'stealaship.' The red wagon rings a bell, will need to keep an eye out for it

Sorry for the late reply. Cheers Guys. Yeah, I'm usually down at car wash on the weekends, seen the odd liberty there every now and then. Live on a property so the car gets noticeably dirty real quick, the one drawback of a black car...

Hey Josh, good to see another STI in the Canberra area. My STI is very black-on-black-on-black these days. Just wondering if I can get blacker tyres :D

I also highly recommend ESP for tuning Subarus and have heard good things about TechWorkz (no work done personally though).
I own a Liberty honest!

Cheers Stu. I'll keep an eye out for your car, should be pretty easy to spot by the sounds of things. I'll be slowly heading the way of black on black, possibly throw in some hints of red.

I've heard good things about ESP as well, however running on extended warranty at the moment so will have to hold out on the tuning... for now. But thanks good to know.
