Lt/100kms solineoid?

Postby Cfn_liberty » Mon Sep 17, 2012 1:23 pm

Can anyone please tell me where the solineoid For the lts/100kms is?
My car reads very high when driving even slow and constant.
Is it read off vacuum?
Any help with this would be great. Thanks

it's read from the ECU.
Calculated by Injector duty cycle and RPM.

you probably have an air leak in your intake pipework or a bad engine sensor causing high fuel consumption

what sort of readings are you seeing?

pop off the plastic engine cover and look for any loose hose clamps, cracked vacuum lines, etc
anything out of place.

does it idle rough at all?
do the rev's hunt around at idle?
does the car "surge" when accelerating mildly?
has it flashed any check lights recently?

If you need to have it looked at,
try Michael (PHAT GT) at Garage 88 (down in the vendors section)

When I'm not accelerating it doesn't read. It just shows bars. And when I'm accelerating even really slowly it reads 50. It idles fine and drives like a dream. Just the readings are freaking me out. No check engine lights for ages.

I have a tune from v and e and I hope it's just a sensor or something. But yeah I don't like it lol

you've probably blown another pipe somewhere and it's sucking in air
causing the o2 sensor to freak out and pump in more fuel than needed

remove TMIC, check all hoses and connections for fitment/ leaks
refit

What is your fuel consumption like apart from what the little screen says?

My Gen V My12 is Litres/Hundred and pretty much every time I take off I hit 50L/100kms then it comes back as I go through the gears and lighten up on the lead foot.

Mine is km/L also. I am not exactly sure of the years/models that are different but I know a number of the earlier (03-04) libs are this way. But then some claim theirs is L/100. There is a thread discussing it somewhere...
