Actually I can probably get out there on 3rd October if your car will be ready by then?

Willing to hold off til then if you like.

Let me know and I'll start an eoi for a club lib trip out there for the 3rd October

And Taylor yeah like senator said - although I havent had them on long enough to tell yet. Literally done 10kms on them so time will tell

Simon - bedding in for these is normal driving according to phat - ie no hard braking for a few days

This differs from the bedding in process I've used for other pads, which is usually to do a few hard stops and no brake riding for the first day or so.

with the bedding in, should you follow the steps that are in the owners manual?

Just curious as i've never had to bed in a set of new pads...

What owner’s manual???

I’ve been running Dixcel FS with DAV slotted heat treated rotors all round with type Z front and type M rear pads for last 3 years.

Bedding them in meant sedate driving for are few days with no high speed applications. Once they are bedded in, the fun begin and only gets better as they get hotter.

How often have you replaced the pads Tony, if at all?

I tend to get 30 -40 000km out of the Z’s (with slotted rotors) which includes a few tracks days…….. and I’m not easy on brakes generally…..

My OEM Brembo pads and rotors where goooone after 18 000, heavy cracking of the pads and a deep lip formed on the rotors……. No track abuse either

So, what you are saying is I shouldn't tune my car for e85?

No what I'm saying is absolutely cutting sick at a race track and chasing down a 911 turbo s with work done to it, without a baffled sump and running this sort of power was not the smartest idea

Its definitely not power related cos it hasn't broken a rod or ring lands or anything like that

Its just pissing oil out of the crank case breather pipe (from the block not the rocker covers - so it's not ring blow-by)

Well, that really sucks for you. Fortunately you are a car guy and seem to accept the fact that these things happen. The plus side is 2.5!

Could it simply be too much oil being where it shouldnt be and its gotta go somewhere. Too much G's in the corner sending oil everywhere???

Dunno my un educated guess.!!

Let it run for about 20 mins and it stopped piasing oil out

It confirmed my wishful thinking that it was some excess oil splashed into the crank case from yesterday's track day, which was being vented out

So it's all good :)

For now....
