But when it's broken it's fair game!

I am already above 200 Dan :). But only just. 202-205.
Upping the boost doesn't give you much extra power Dan. It's the air/fuel ratio adjustments along with your cam and ignition timing that gives you the extra kw's. (There's alot more to tuning that just that, I just listen to some of the tuners and repeat some of what they say.)

The Auto is going alright atm. Shifts alright but its my 3rd Gear ratio that is to long and gets anoying.

I'm saving atm for a ej257 bottom end, bigger cams, ported heads, Sti water pump, Sti timing belt, gasket kit and a STI JDM spec C 6 speed.

Will be good to get a real trans in there.

The problem with the autos is no oz based tuner that ive seen other than matt can get them locking up and transferring the power properly.

It's not an issue of "slipping on the dyno" as we've been led to believe in the past. It's actually a real slip, as the ecu confuses itself and doesn't know what to do cos its being told to do three or four conflicting things. Thats the simple explanation anyway.

Taylor I'm not trying to deter you from doing this tune with snj, but I would seriously reconsider whether it's worth it given youve only changed intercooler and fuel type. Especially when in all likelihood snj will not be able to extract more power out of it due to the aforementioned slip. It will most likely not see more than what power you're currently making atw.

I would strongly suggest you have a chat to matt to see what he can do for you before getting your ecu ecutek'd and blocked out

I thought u made 190 atw last tune???

And if you're serious about the 257 build then make sure you plan meticulously.

I can pretty much guarantee after one of matt's tunes, you will start referring to our 5eat as a "real Gbox" too ;)

Yes and yes :).

Dyno after phat was 194atw. Scott told me to add 10-15 for what it "truely" was.

Why the 5 speed mick? I have always been told that the 6 speed will handle crazy amounts of power all day, every day.

Where's as the 5 speed will go bang if you put to much power through it.

And when you say "And if you're serious about the 257 build then make sure you plan meticulously."

What else do you feel I would need to add to my build?
Ej257 short block
Sti intake manifold
Gasket kit
Ported headsI
Bigger cams
Timing belt/water pump/spark plugs

He's talking about the 5EAT, which is the auto transmission. He is referring to the fact that Matt's tune has transformed his auto into a machine!

What do you mean by add 10-15kw for what it truly is?

the 5eat's slip on the dynos and dont show a true atw on the road power figure. So your tuner tells you to add 10-15 kw's to what it made as this is what it will be at when your out on the road.

This is why im thinking of maybe getting matt to do an on road tune so he tune the 5eat properly with out it slipping on the rollers.

Ok so worked out there is e85 fairly close to my house. time for an injector upgrade to handle it.

Im fairly sure the 2.0t's are side feed?

would it be worth while going top feed? ill go 1000cc to save maxing out 750's later down the track.
