That time was with a 2.4 60, hitting the limiter in 2nd and crossing the line bouncing off the limiter in 4th. I ran 2 2.0 60's, but both times I missed third. The good news is with 6 speed is I did 6 runs lauching between 4000 and 6000 rpm, sometimes leaving the line with all 4 wheels spinning and nothing broke, a feat that the 5 speed would not have managed. Just some points to note (and only some will get this), with the vf34, the car was 80mph at half track and trapped 100, so it put on 20mph in the deep end. With the fancy 20g 5 speed and tune number one it was 81 at half track and 105 through the traps. Finally, with the last tune and 6 speed it was 76mph at half track and 103 on the limiter (so prolly would have been 105+ but 103 is the number on the slip) which by my maths is 27mph in the deep.
With the six speed, coil overs and new bushes it is amazing to drive through the hills now. Never in the wrong gear, and can exit 2nd gear corners with wheels spinning. Good times.

Missing 3rd is the very reason I got the Kartboy pitch stop mount and the STI Group N transmission mount. Do it....

Well i hope that helps cause i had trouble grabbing third on the strip too!!! which transmission mount is it bruce and how much are they?

Funny, I couldn't find anyone mention this issue on here.

I got the Kartboy one and it cost $139 or so landed.

There is an STI Group N pitch stop mount but only one rubber is harder than stock. The unit is also still made of plastic.

The Kartboy is CNC aluminium with a Urethane bush. Is definitely more rigid but may increase NVH. Everything is a compromise.

You can get it from Entra imports for about the same. I was impatient and got it on ebay without first checking all options.

The STI Group N transmission mount can be got from Entra as well or via US sellers on ebay. The saving here was about $25 due to combining postage and buying 2. One for me, and one for 3rspecb.

Thanks bruce, ill replace it when everythings sorted lol

my stop mount is plastic i think its the original one though

i'd say most people dont know how to fix that issue, i always thought it was that mount and the one under the car as mine was banging a little when i had that boost issue, you should do a write up for it ;)

Yeah they're all the same plastic with a really soft rubber bush to reduce NVH.

I've given you all the info no write up needed as it's about 10mins work with the TMIC off.

With both the mounts changed the difference is supposed to be incredible. I've done the pitch stop and waiting for the tranny mount but already I've noticed a big difference.

Just pulled my ARE intercooler out of my supra. 330mm tall, going to try and make it fit in the front of my Liberty. Good times and knuckle scraping ahead.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

Got busy today. Fitted an AEM wideband. Quite a mission. It is a lot more difficult doing a good job worthy of a nice car than just banging one into some old turbo shitbox. Mucho knuckle scraping. Also made some big decisions and have sourced a second motor for the big build, a set of 12 valve heads and a supporting bottom end.
