The prefacelift (late 03 to 06) Gt ran a twin scroll turbo which has a different flange to the vf46

I personally wouldn't bother with an intake pipe unless you're changing turbo

K&n or hks panel filter will be fine for what you're chasing

I'd rather spend that money on a decent second hand intercooler

Good luck mate

Mick

The particular car Craig is looking at buying the parts of has had a single scroll turbo conversion with an AVO 400 turbo.

The cast collector in the for sale post is compatible with a VF46.

The separate custom bolt on dump pipe is off an auto. Not sure if that bit is compatible.

This has kinda turned into an exhaust thread.

I'm doing a try before buy....

I have confirmed it was fitted to the avo400 not the stock turbo
So if you thinking it will be compatable Then I'll definately get the housing. I can't really go too wrong now can i

Just FYI, auto and manual have different dump pipes.
The auto runs longer before the first bend to clear the longer gearbox.

When I went to MSR, Michael customised a manual XForce dump pipe to suit my auto.

No worries, here is a photo.

Note the painted grey area, that's the "first" bend I mentioned. Michael ordered the "wrong" one for me and thus altered it for free.
Not sure if he will charge if you bring in a manual one for him to adapt for auto.

Sh4wry wrote:Hi guys I got a quote for a tune from MSR and have some noob questions
email is as follows:

"Tune is 900, dump pipe with race cat is 900 fitted, will bolt to your cat
back.

TMIC will get few KW, not a lot, better off with silicon intake pipe, this
will get you heaps of torque from 2800rpm, and 175-180kw top end.

Silicon pipe is 400 fitted, from turbo to air box."

i got the same prices from michael about the silicon inlet and tune but i'm getting a turbo back exhaust using the stock mufflers, for noise reasons (michael said there won't be any power loss with the stock ones), all done in mild steel for $1250.
he told me the same thing about torque too.
i'm getting the work done on sep 18. i'll let you know how it goes if you want.......

adam

p.s. sorry if this is considered a hijack on your thread.......

just got in contact with michael before and the silicon inlet includes both the pipe to the turbo and the short fat pipe fitted for $400. pretty good value i think considering i've seen silicon inlets for around $250 to $300 and short fat bits for $80 to $100. :D
