Engine couldnt run over 6000 RPM

Leave it at P gear, then start to gently give him oil. The engine start to shake at 5000 RPM to 6000 RPM, and then the meter drop from 6000RPM to 5000 RPM. It can never pass 6000 RPM.
Is it normal? or I need to give him a check? Please give me some advice.

found the answer from user manual.
"To protect the engine while the "p" or "n" position is selected, the engine is controlled such that the engine speed does not become too high even if the accelerator pedal is pressed hard."
and it is 3.0=liter models only.

Its Subaru's antistall (launch control) feature.

If you get an open source tune, your tuner can disengage it or change the trigger points.

You can also do the above yourself with a tactrix cable and romraider/ecuflash software.

Why would you do that, are you trying to imminently destroy the engine, that is a built in protection feature. People wonder why the manufacturer does these things - this is an example of why they do it

Na Tim I am pretty sure the engine loves redlining while stationary. Grabbing in all that super hot air, does wonders for the car.
