Tune in the area, and some info

Postby dja » Tue Jul 10, 2012 11:11 pm

Hi guys.
my 07sti wagon is tuned for 200kw atw, soon ill be throwing a fmic for proper cooling on, and possibly a td0518g with billet wheel on it for better flow at lower boost.

I wonder if there is anyone in the wollongong area who can do a good tune, power is not my concern, as 200kw atw is plenty to get a family wagon moving, i just want low det, good fuel economy, and torque.

Looks like the bloke who tunes for KIDO is good, but i need someone local.

I can do all the mechanical work with my eyes closed, but tuning im yet to venture into.

Ill also note my car has a farken ecuteck in it, and i would like to throw it against the wall ;)

You live pretty close to Sydney. Drive easy up there or truck it if you don't want to drive it.

And doesn't kido do remote tuning, or am I getting mixed up?

KiDO do remote tuning man, I'm in the queue for one at the moment, although I might put it off if I can't chase down the exhaust bits I want first :(

Although, the Ecuteck may complicate things?

Remote tuning?
as in send me your ecu, ill send you a tune?
if thats what you mean, thats just not going to happen, im baffled that people actually do that.

MRT are not exactly good at tuning, customer service, being helpful or polite, so i might have to just rip the ecuteck out of the thing all together, and get a fresh romraider tune.

Remote tuning as in they send you the file, you upload it, log it, send them the feedback, and they adjust it. Rinse and repeat

You don't have to go anywhere near MRT. There are plenty of other places in sydney.
There at a few threads around that name a bunch.

There are also a number of posts around of people who have de-ecutec-ed their ecu's to get a different tune.

I haven't time to go searching for them though.

AFAIK there is no one in wollongong that anyone on this forum has used, I've done a search to clarify and couldn't find anything.

Your best bet would be to get your car to Sydney for a day to get it tuned. I'd recommend Scott from Insight Motorsports, he has tuned quite a few members cars on here recently. Have heard nothing but good things.

Dan, wasn't there some joint Ben used down there somewhere? That day he blew his big end down Mt Ousley and we ended up at your house, he was heading to get a tune done with his wagon when it had the GD WRX gear in it.

This is a liberty forum not a forester forum? I did say anyone on this forum. And also I was referring to an actual shop, are you talking about remotely tuned?

Oops, I reread and should clarify lol

Atleast one member is on this forum and it was tuned when I was down there earlier this year. His wife owns a NA 07 2.5 Liberty which I also tuned :)
