Turbosmart manual boost gauge

Postby Sezzie » Wed Aug 01, 2012 10:05 am

Hey there

I have an 04 GT and I would like to install a turbosmart boost gauge, has anybody done this before?
What is the factory boost pressure on these GTs, I was told it was around 7 psi, is this right?
No one can seem to give me a correct answer!

Is there a reliable place in Sydney where I can get this installed professionally ?

Thanks guys
Sezzie

I think they run closer to 14-15 lbs stock.
If your car is stock there is not real need to run a boost gauge. In fact, even if it is modified there is no reason. It only realistically comes into play with tuning or diagnosing a fault, and dyno is going to have a boost reference anyhow.
Do you think you could install it yourself? You will save plenty of money if you do.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

You want to pm Kido tuning or alternatively go to a tuning joint (i only mention kido as they are quite active on these forums and getting results). Get a tune done for what ever it costs, no need for the boost controller. That way you get your AFRs and timing sorted too. You can then use the peddle on the extreme right to control the amount of boost the car is making!

Manual boost controllers don't really have a place on late model cars.

Stock boost is 13-14 I believe. Not many people can believe it is that high to be honest
