Gen 4 Dome Seat Belt light

Postby AlpineRaven » Thu Jul 26, 2012 7:00 am

Hey guys,
See photo below - In our Gen 4 Liberty nothing that I am concerned about, as far I know that the seatbelt light on the ceiling is working, but not all of them, the passengers seat will show red before clicking seatbelt in then it should change to green, but it disappears. Drivers seat - does it normally show? It only shows on the dash if i un-do the buckle and should it show on the indicator? When I took that photo I was sitting in the drivers seat. The rears are working but not sure about the centre?
If in that case - what type of bulb are they? Don't want to rip the car apart and find out that i cant change the globes.
Cheers
AP

The front passenger seat doesn't have a green light cause you can see if their belt is on!! The rears however are
Red and green so you can tell if they have belts plugged in. A easy way to check is plug all 3 buckels in and 3 lights from the right will be green.

Pretty sure front passenger only comes on red with weight on the seat, no green.
And rear passengers only comes on green when buckled, no red.
Will check later

Yeah, they are different sensors.

Passenger is red because it know someone is sitting there (weight sensor) and has no belt on. = bad = red
Rear don't have weight sensors so it doesn't know if someone is sitting or not so it only knows if a belt is plugged in. = good = green

Edit: damn you beat me to it. I should just go to work I guess.

Yeah I figured today too that's correct above. All 3 sears in the rear will turn green if buckled up. Red for passengers seat but goes away when buckled too.
