Is it just the headlight and the bumper??

If it Is shop around for a cheap headlight and a bumper. If your excess is anything like mine it will work out cheaper I think.

I have a drivers side headlight casing spare but it's not in the best condition. $50 and its yours. Pm me if your interested.

I may be able to get a very cheap front bar, all I would ask is petrol cost as its a 3 hour return trip. I'll know in a few days...

so I got a quote yesterday for the damage cause by me hitting a roo on my way through golburn coming home from the snow, the quote is basically what I thought it would be, roughly $2400 with the possibility it could go up when the front bar is removed and all damage assessed properly, two pages I recieved

Second one is parts needed, however things aren't looking so positive after a call with my insurance company (budget direct) this afternoon.

I feel like an idiot but when insuring my car I didn't read all the small print, anyone who insures with budget direct car insurance MUST read the small print, yes they are the cheapest but there is a reason why. My excess currently is set at $750, which I thought wasn't too bad, but since I'm 20years of age and a green p plater I get hit with "extra" excesses, meaning my excess for my insurance company to fund the repair costs is somewhere around the $1750 mark, with no one else at fault I'm the one left to pay :? if only I'd swapped details with that roo, my girl friend has offered to help me out.

Jeerrredddddd!!!! You should ALWAYS read the fine print from insurance companies no matter who it is!

I have an age excess on my car too as I'm under 25, but it doesn't count in some situations, i.e. if my car is damaged at a car park and I am not in it, or if, while driving, a tree branch falls onto my car etc. So maybe that would mean hitting an animal would fall under that. I'm going to check now!

Hopefully you sort this out, but once again your girlfriend proves how good she is to you!

jesus! for the price of your insurance + excess, you might be better off sourcing and painting the parts yourself..

if you do, more than happy to give you my bonnet  would just need painting, and cover the cost of shipping

Fark mate. Way better off doing it yourself. Only bit you can't fix yourself is painting the new front bumper. Otherwise the rest should be pretty simple, save money by buying 2nd hand gear and labour doing it yourself!
Could cut that price in half if you shop around..

haha I'm abit stupid!! :P

I re read the papers and it doesn't directly say the excess applies but it has them listed, I just didn't put the two together, the light is cracked right through with both the cover and 'back part' (bit with projector lens) copping a hiding, I did hit a roo doing 100 clicks

I was thinking about sourcing some second hand cheap parts, but the smash reparer did state that the light has been pushed back and up forcing the drivers side front guard back and making it bend, also the bonnet is slightly out, cheap is always good but at the end of the day I want her looking mint

Source good s/h parts for cheap, give to panel beater, pay cash for him to paint and fit or just paint and you fit.

Waaaaaaay cheaper outcome.
