Hello from Matt - Gen 3 Heritage

Postby Azzo28 » Wed Feb 01, 2012 7:45 pm

Name: Matt Azzopardi
Ride: 01' Subaru Liberty Heritage
Location: Ascot Vale, VIC
Mod: Nothing except for a couple of stickers and going over the car bit by bit as I service it.
Plans: Lower, wheels, exhaust, intake
Occupation: Operations manager
Year of birth: 1990
Interest: Fishing, motorsport
Previous Rides: 1989 Toyota 4runner (modified for 4wding)

Hey guys,
I really like the set up on here. My car is pretty boring at the moment. I have plans for it but have been prioritizing reliability since I bought the car (less than 12 months ago). I have a feeling I have the dreaded external head gasket leak, so if anyone has had it repaired I wouldn't mind an idea of the cost to have it done.

Cheers,
Matt

Suppose I should update this with my mods.
So far I have:
•RFRB grill sprayed Matt black
•front lip
•legacy rear garnish with the extra lights hooked up
•led rear number plate lights
•lowered on ISC N1 coilovers
•Rota Grid 18x8.5 in Matt black
•rolled front an rear guards
•hid's (currently not on car)
•tints
•clear side indicators
That's all I think. :)
I did end up getting my head gasket replaced. Would like to do my exhaust soon.

All these mods and no pictures. For shame. <Seriously though, post some pictures. :D >
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

My apologies, updated it from my phone. Heres a couple of pictures for you - although they are just iphone pictures so the quality isnt very good at all.

I want to get rid of the black strips on the 4 corners of the bumpers but I dont know what to expect once I pull them off. It may end up looking worse than it does now. The car isnt perfect, it has its share of dings and scratches from very considerate people opening their own doors in to my car, or trolleys.

Your car looks great Matt. :good: Although personally, I prefer the grille colour coded.
You may be able to get off the rubber things with a heat gun and fishing line. There will probably be some pretty old glue stuck underneath though, which would take a lot of patience and polishing to remove.

Thank you. I haven't yet decided on the colour for the grill. That paint job is 2 coats of Matt black spray can paint directly over the original silver paint. So it hasn't yet been sprayed properly.

When I have a free day I will get around to removing those black strips.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. :D
I must say I was pretty surprised how well the colour scheme worked.
Not a B4 unfortunately... Just a n/a 2.5. Can't have turbos on my P's. :(
