Is this the front Lower Control Arm Bush?

Hey guys

As the title suggests, I'm assuming this is the front LCA bush. I would just like to confirm my assumption as it is now rooted.

So I'll put it out to the brains trust.

Is that the LCA bush?

Nope it isn't.. The dreaded LCA bush is at the rear of the arm (as in closest to the back of the car)

It's starting to sound like running over cats eyes under heavy braking. So im a little concerned

That is the ball joint. they can be noisey over bumps and when turning if they are wearing.

Whiteline do a bump steer kit which also includes the steering rack ball joints and I believe another bush somewhere from memory. However being a performance upgrade they knock until they are warm, but this is by design, not due to wear.

I have coilovers going in, in a few weeks if that would make a difference

Contact t.renshaw34, Taylor is a whiteline distributor and can get you a good price on whiteline kits, or just the ball joints.

I would suggest the whiteline upgrades if you plan on hard driving, if your car is just a work/family car then stock equivalent from any manufacturer, or genuine will be sufficient and more comfortable.

The upgrade ones as I said, knock when cold (only for a couple of minutes), but do give a better feel through corners (when driving with a bit more pace than your grandparents).

Stock ones will always be quiet and feel the same as your current ones (obviously).

Is it dangerous to drive around with it like that for a couple of weeks or should I have it fixed ASAP?

Is it a big job to install that whiteline kit. Would it be worth doing say the Lca bushes at the same time?

You have to remove the lower control arm to change the ball joint so might as well do the bushes while you're at it!

How do you know the ball joints rooted Tom? Or your LCA bushes?

It'll be fine to drive around in the interim.

KCA344 is correct - have that fitted to mine.
KCA313 looks right.
Not sure what bush the W0506 is but if the arms are off you might as well change them!

I have the whiteline bumpsteer/roll centre kit and don't have any noises, been on the car for over a year now..

The ball joint can be changed on the car, but if you want to change the bushes also then they need to be removed.

There is no problems driving the car as is. It will slowly lose grease through the split in the boot and eventually it will wear and knock, but tht could be like 20,000km+ away. It all depends on where and how you drive.
