Results look good Bruce
How does it drive?

Car needed a little tweaking of the tune to get the AFR's spot on.
Was then run up to produce a power figure of 202.6kw at 16psi.
I'll drive it for a little while to see how the car and I like it before increasing the boost slightly to 18 or 19 psi.

Hmm it went to springy.....??
How was my car
The tuned elsewhere was where I was tuned? What fuel was it running?
bass_straitener wrote:I'm currently working with Matt the KiDo Racing tuner to sort out a tune for me.
Progress has been good with only one slight niggle which should be fixed in the next map revision.
Will post some results etc soon when the tune is finalised and I run it on a dyno to check everything.
Things can't be tested legally on the roads hence the dyno check.

KiDo_Tuning wrote:The MAF scaling was off as Bruce has had a boost leak(and was getting boost spikes from the failing grimspeed solenoid, now fixed with the pierburg solenoid) so for the time I have tuned the car, it was near impossible to get a consistent MAF scale. Had no logs from after the boost leak and solenoid was replaced or I would have fixed the MAF scaling prior to going on the dyno
Only changes of note in the tune was MAF/fueling, my peak timing curve was right once load is corrected.
The final power output curve/response does look better than the other VF52 dyno graphs I was shown while I was in Melbourne retuning WRX's and S-Editions though, atleast that is indicative of getting the AVCS, timing and throttle settings right for a good tune and not usingNo 1500rpm to 3000rpm hesitation on the road either
MAF scaling still needs tweaks and fix the timing graph back up as 10.55 degree drops in timing over just 300rpm will induce feedback knock correction

There was no fault with the grimspeed, the stutter issue that was occurring was because the kido tune was dangerously rich. I believe the replacement part was doing the exact same thing.
I thought the boost leak was fixed by springy (tmic hose was loose) and then kido did another tune while he was still in melb?
I'm glad that kido marketing is in overdrive as Im sure Matt is amazing with his knowledge and ability (I have heard great things), but i'll let the results speak for themselves.
Before kido 180kw@tw.
Cai + rear mufflers and kido tune multiple revisions 170kw@tw and dangerously rich.
Springy "adjustments" 202kw@tw.
I have no affiliation with anyone nor am I saying that anyone is better than anyone else. The facts are there, so make of it what you will.

Failing for the PWM I was using due to the boost leak. Nothing 'wrong' with the Grimspeed but it was letting us down with the results we were chasing.
