Much much much respect for the hachi - no seriously a huge amount of respect

The dedication and passion is blatantly obvious when looking at that mod list

It's not just a "brand name slap together", and is a well thought out setup to work harmoniously in making the desired power, chassis control and delivery

One thing you didn't mention was lubrication setup and intended rev limit (I'm thinking forumla Atlantic style revs )

Kudos to you for such a beast, as alot of the uninitiated would have caved to the trend and slapped on a huffer instead of pursuing the (more difficult but wholesome) path of high power n/a.

Sorry if I'm talking alot but just blown away by this seriously

And I also like the MR - veeey niiiice

Thanks for all the comments guys - certainly do love our cars! I have a lot to learn still, but I'm getting there slowly...so much to take in and there seems to be a lot of knowledge and information on this forum... determined not to retreat into the "fluffy dice and pretty seat cover section"

i have a friend who recently purchasing a evo 8 MR (JDM) which is as stock as a rock.
what would you reccomend to get some addtional KW :D

um... clutch, exhaust, rally art air cleaner with modified intake, map sensor and a verso tune... also, pretty sure all MR's are JDM ;) They didn't come out in Aus, but the normal Evo 8 did.

Rome_STI wrote:Holy crap you would get along with some of the members on here, you are so JDM yo!

Haha never really thought of being 'so JDM', not quite sure if it was intended either, but looking at the mod list for the cars...... haha

Stomps... what are you running in that Soarer? a 2JZ? Do you take it up to Barbs much? I don't think I've seen you there... but then again, we don't get up there as much as we'd like. Unlucky on the Evo MR! Hate it when that happens. Is your brother in Perth? I know there are a few heavily modded '86s around - interested to hear more about that car. As for my Lib... with the other cars in the household, I think my Lib will remain fairly sedate, just a few bits and pieces  ... certainly nothing crazy, I do a lot of K's everyday and it is the 'family' car - I mostly bought it because my son has outgrown the legroom in the WRX

You have stolen my idea..... Damn you!! And the main reason was the wife doesnt understand the need for 3 cars and 2 drivers!!! Hahaha.

I guess I should say sorry for stealing your idea.... but.... :P
I think you should suggest to your wife that you need 3 cars... at least! So many nice cars out there, seems a shame to limit them to one per driver!

Mick - Thanks for huge compliments. The congrats really need to go to my hubby though, he honestly has spent hundreds of hours doing research to make sure he sets it up right and not spend every cent we have doing so, as he seems to pick up the most amazing bargains for parts. I like that it's been kept NA... makes it stand out from the rest, and yes, certainly much more satisfying!
dr20t wrote:One thing you didn't mention was lubrication setup and intended rev limit (I'm thinking forumla Atlantic style revs )

It'll be a wet setup with a custom made ali high energy winged sump, all baffled for track use. As the cams run out around 8850rpm, the rev limit will be set at 9000rpm which it should handle reliably all day long.

Hey,

the soarer is an older z20 shape.. running a built 1jz (arias pistons, spool rods, race bearings, minor crank work, HKS 264 cams, titanium valve springs, 600cc injectors, bosch 044 with surge, 35R etc.. etc..)

had a few issues with it recently.. mainly with the microtech (which ill soon get rid of) havent had it out to wannaz since early last year... had misfiring issues (microtech) then sorted them, took it to a motorkhana and killed my gearbox.. so rebuilt the gearbox with a lot of expensive Marlin Crawler innards.. got the car back on the road and in it's first drive got a knock.. without going into too much detail (because the perth engine build scene isn't exactly huge) 3 of 6 arias pistons melted.. on a very safe tune only running 18psi.. so.. no idea why they melted.. but the engine has been with the engine builder since.. will be back out at wannaz as soon as i get the engine back.. this is what it looks like: sorry for the chrome rims, but they were the only set of 10" rims i could find..

Image

As for my brothers car... its a yellow/black one with full origin kit, J-blood guards etc.. also has a built motor ready for him to strap a snail to it.. after years and years of keeping it NA while sorting out his suspension setup, he's finally gotten around to working on some power.. it's basically track only (despite still being regoed) no interior, full cage etc.. looks like this:

Image

sorry for such massive pics in your thread, but they are the only ones i had avail..

Cant wait to see any of your cars at a WA track day..
STI lip, Whiteline suspension goodies, KIDO tune.. more to come..

My Track z20 soarer
built 1jz, 35r +44mm gate, HKS 264's, Titanium valve springs, microjunk, cage, no interior, welded diff = skids ahoy

Stomps... love the hachi pics... good too see someone using one for something other than drifting! Your car is looking good (minus those chrome rims! )...sorry to hear about your engine, seems like a run of crappy luck with it; hope you get it sorted soon. My hubby built a JZA70 Supra with a 2JZ with all the bolt ons etc etc with his brother, made 550rwhp, must be some pics floating around here somewhere of it - sounds like you and my hubby would get along really well! Once you get your car going again, be great to see you up at a track day sometime.

yep I'm a girl
Thanks for the welcome! After owning it a couple of weeks now, my Lib is still stocko, mostly 'cos a certain man of mine bought an engine from the states for the hachi! My car will just have to wait lol... Its day will come as it seriously needs more punch... And I'm not too plussed on the handling either, feels like a boat going around corners at the moment. So guys, what to do first?
