Few reasons...

1- availability (2nd hand)
2- ride height (actually higher than standard springs on billies)
3- cost.. (if bought new)

If I am to spend $450ish on springs, I'll go the stech option..

Firstly, and this is just my own opinion, but having those kinds of lowering springs on the billies will drastically shorten their lifespan. Secondly, have a chat to Simon as he has (or at least had) King Springs in his and didn't like the ride quality.

I'm not too sure how you feel about Eibach, but I know they make some decent springs that aren't ridiculously low, give an even drop in ride height and are much kinder to the billies. Just a thought

Cheers mate.. I'm not too fussed about lifespan coz I get get the billies rebuilt for pretty much nothing.. I was intending to have them re-valved to suit whatever spring rates I end up with..

I'm kinda new to this forum so haven idea who Simon is.. Can you tell me his forum name? Or is it actually simon.. Lol

If that's the case then getting your Billies revalved to suit the Phat edition S Techs would be your best bet. Sorry, by Simon I mean SH30RB

i got eibachs on my JDM bilsteins and its wonderful handling and comfort wise dont know what the spring rates are and the drop is perfect for me.

Ok i had my King Lows fitted, this is day two and is recommended to wait 7 days to let them settle in.

Handling: (coupled with HD sway bars and endlinks) is soooo sooo soooooo much better, barely any body roll.
Ride height: is perfect in my eyes as i can still park up against the concrete blocks at the front of car parks without hitting my lip, doesn't scrape below the car nor on the tyres. There is abit of bumsag but so does the stock springs so it doesn't bother me
Stiffness: is far from uncomfortable however i have not compared to coilovers.

Will let y'all know if anything changes over the next few days as they settle in

Not sure where you got this information from but as far as I know, standard springs on KYB struts is lower than STI pink springs on Bilstein struts....but standard springs on Bilstein struts are definitely not lower than STI pink springs on Bilstein struts, otherwise they wouldn't be advertised as dropping the car by 10-15mm

People off here generally buy the Wheel power bilsteins with the standard springs and then buy a set of STI pink springs to lower their car...so I can't see why they would be doing that if this would actually make the car ride higher than the standard springs

The info was from a thread somewhere discussing springs etc.. the whole thread was about springs on billies , then someone said the sti ones sit higher .. I just assumed they meant it in the same context... they must have meant on stock struts ... sorry for the mix up..

havent seen too many come up for sale recently.. rooted if im paying $600 for springs alone though..

i reckon ill end up just getting Phat's S-techs.. still focusing on other suspension stuff ATM though.. i may just live with the stock springs on billies..

yeah, been looking at them.. only problem is i work for a charity and much of my "car money" goes to a salary packaging credit card that i cant withdraw cash from... so i would have to pay by credit card... which poses issues when paying from one person to another..
