I have had nothing but negative thoughts from this forum but hey the xr6 fords and lots of other cars run them and go hard ? They are not saying it will ive me more power, just will be tuned to the most responsive it can be cost is aprox 700.00 ?

best way to do it mate, would be to get your local exhaust shop to knock up a cat back for you and then head down to somewhere else to get a dyno tune :) they will be able to get a few more ponies out of the engine bay but most of all improve the drive-ability of your car

$700 for an exhaust and tune? That's a good price! What's the quality?

Personally, I'd get a good exhaust put on and get it tuned elsewhere by someone who specialses in Subaru's.

BTW Why did you decide to go with a Unichip??

Mate - definitely the wrong thread, the title is nothing to do with tuning. Check out other threads about tuning

While I am here, get in contact with XRT or KiDO racing about a retune of the stock ECU. You should NEVER use a piggyback on this car and NO XR6's dont run piggybacks and go hard, they reflash using XCAL3. Those XR6s that do run piggyback dont go hard for long before things screw up. The negative thoughts are the correct ones in this case, a high quality reflash is WAY cheaper than the piggyback which will need a full dyno tune after installation.

AVOID PB at all costs for 3.0 vehicle.

Now back to oil levels, oil quality and oil consumption for this thread

I have just split the preceding posts out of the "H6 3.0 - Lack of checking = Engine Carnage " topic.

Lets be honest, in the 3.0 section, there need be just 3 threads

1) Oil consumption
2) Super/turbo charging (ok maybe 2a and 2b
and
3) Anything else

as you can see thread topic 1 and 2 should take care of 99.87924864% of posts :P
