i hav a '03 MY04 liberty n/a 2.5 litre sedan , with about 120 000ks on her
have only meshed the grille and put HID's in ( 10000k )
but i am planning an xforce cat back system or something similar to bring out the boxer note in the next couple of months (only budgeted 1k so hopefully i can get something decent)
unequal headers and a new stereo system (as i don't have macintosh :,( ) are the only mods after that im planning , oh and an outback bonnet.
happy with how she sits on the road ( but i may want to put some whiteline gear in eventually ) and actually like the stock rims s that'll be it for now.
went for the n/a version as i have had turbos in the past and wanted something comfy to drive that is no to bad on fuel for my daily duties, who knows in a cople of years i may want to upgade to a GT but i am vry happy with the libz atm.
THE GOOD : low k's , manual , comfy ride , surprisingly not bad pick up for an n/a
THE BAD : where to start , hail damaged ( told by previous owner was an acorn tree , lol , only the bonnet thats not great , hence outback bonnet wanted later ) , thrust bearing on the way out ( so new clutch will be going in aswell ) , info display doesn't work , lower control arm bushes need replacing , heads had to be machined , aswell as new timing belt kit in february , brakes were all worn down.
sooo i bought the car last november , and was told by previous owner had only just had major service 10000kms ago at the time , so was driving it to up to woolworths early february and it just stopped , tried starting it but no luck , just bad misfiring, pushed it home ( luckily i was only bout 500m away , and got it towed to my bosses workshop , the timing belt tensioner wasn't replaced at major service so apparently this caused the belt to slip off and cause all the dramas , so got the brake pads replaced aswell ( all up for labour , head machining , new valves (pistons were okay ) , fluids , timing belt ( FULL ) kit , plugs , pads etc was a total of just over 3k ) , so needless to say i was fuming , after only have had it for 2 months at the time , oh and when it was at workshop, also found the lower control arm bushes and thrust bearing were on their way out , yayyyy.
at the end of the day now that some of the problems are fixed i actually do love driving it ( just bad luck i guess ) ,it has surprisingly good pick up , is very comfy and i average about 10l per 100 kms city driving , so i'm happy with that.
when i first got her :
