MY05 Liberty GT Subwoofer Replacement

Hi,

I'm just wondering, I have a Mcintosh Audio system and I would like to replace my 8inch Subwoofer held in the parcel shelf as my stock subwoofer had blown, but i would like to replace it with something with a little bit more kick. One problem that i might be facing is the amplifier, as i don't exactly want to add another amp or change the Mcintosh Amp, is adding a good 8 inch sub a bit too much for the standard Amp? I have heard people who have had problems with the standard amp but i have also heard people being able to install an improved subwoofer with the standard amp... As you can see this is why I am a bit confused whether I can use my standard amp or whether I need to purchase another one...

Polm MM840 single voice coil sub seems to be a good (underpowered) sub as the stock amp isnt that good. I have one in the mail so i will let you know how it goes.

Appreciate your help guys , I shall check out the Polk MM840 and the db Polk. I know I said i didn't want to change amps, or purchase another one and connect that straight to the sub, but that would be my best option correct? to get better sound with an 8 inch?

Looks neat, love the exhaust. Change the wheels, remove the spoiler, clean up the rusty looking rotors & paint your calipers.
