Whoa! That is good news! This tuning bug has really bitten, but I guess there will be diminishing returns as we get into the fine stuff. But happy that I got RomRaider working. Well, Bruce actually.... :D

UPDATE: Transmission and Engine tune - 30 Jun 2012

Finished the transmission and engine tune with Matt from Kido-Racing. I have got to say, he is living up to his promise of a DSG like transmission for shifts. The shifts are now smooth and quick. In manual mode, which I now love, the down shifts happen as soon as I pull back on the lever. The up shifts are almost the same. In Sport Auto Mode, it is a fast shifting, high revving slick machine.

I tried various throttle scenarios and the results have improved across all of them and all of them so far are SMOOTH.

And on the way home I noticed the fuel economy may have improved as well.

So details you ask? Well, I am not expert enough to convey these properly so I wont try. But he has done Air/Fuel, Timing, smoothed AVCS and the DBW tables. Volume of Air Mass throughput has gone up from 220g/s to 270g/s. On that basis, there is about a 22% improvement in the air/fuel mass flowing through the engine, so should see a good improvement at the wheels. Dyno, here I come!

There are also some areas that will need improving. The air intake needs work to remove a potential restriction. And of course, the stock headers will be replaced down the track with a pair of local extractors. So should see some more improvements to the air mass throughput, but that is for later.

I am going for a drive today and will try to capture the auto shifts on camera.

It all sounds very promising indeed!

That's a significant airflow improvement, butt Dyno should be giving positive indications :)

Yes, a good gain, but the best bit was the DBW tune and the slick smooth 5EAT transmission. I now have an auto and a manual. :D

Another part that was tuned by Matt was my Fuel Pump Duty Cycle. It was too low for the current power level.

Can't wait to go shopping this morning with the missus, just so I can drive the car again.

A flawless shifting auto is very satisfying and the 5EAT cars are generally much less expensive than the B spec cars.

Some real pluses for auto trans Libs

I think he means when you are looking to buy a 2nd hand one!

Correct interpretation

If you want to get into a 3 Liter Lib, auto is cheaper by heaps, yes they don't have B spec features but a charger kit, a tune and a few brake/suspension upgrades and you have an excellent car!
