Hi All,

Jeff here from the north side of Brisbane, just picked up a manual MY05 Liberty GT in Obsidian Black.

No immediate plans for modifications, but I have been reading some of the other posts with interest...

Got a few things to tidy up though so I thought I'd make a few posts with the progress. I've managed to get some pics of the car as well, but as it's been raining a fair bit in Brisbane she's not as clean as I would have liked.

On a side note my first bit of work is done, which was to pull apart the rear passenger door and have a crack at the Central Locking actuator.

It's all back together and working as it should, so I'm happy.

Good pickups, although you could have let the grass on the drivers mat slide

Not sure I'm sold on the GT badge, but I'll see if it grows on me.

You're right about the rear mufflers, they've been swapped out but I believe that the rest of the exhaust is stock (at least from the middle forward). It's probably obvious to those who know in these pics:

The rest of the system is stock. Theyve just cut out the factory mufflers and welded in resonators and put tips on them. How loud is it?

It's got a bit of a throaty roar to it, but certainly not loud (at least in the cabin whilst driving). I've been told that you can keep them pretty quiet until you mess with the middle muffler/front section, I guess this backs it up.

Ive fitted a dump with stock mufflers and theres no noticeable increase to sound level.

You need the Ebay STi replica lip.

Does it make much difference to ground clearance of the front bar? There's a big slope at the entrance to my sons Kindy that I've already scraped once, I'd hate to leave a lip behind...

It does as it sits about 10mm lower but extends out about 50mm from the edge of the front bar.

I was on an angle at the time, just coming in a bit hot I guess It does go from a 30 degree decline (at least) to completely flat without a transition though.

Thanks for the dimensions as there are some parks a bit further away at the top of the hill, and I might be able to use my legs to bridge the gap

Goodbye old shifter which was missing the leather, hello new JDM item.

I feel a lot less insecure shifting with something that isn't the size and shape of John Holmes' Knob too

Hi All,

The foam surround on my sub was completely cactus, so I took some time out today to replace the surround itself.

Thanks to the guide and pics from Viper, I removed everything to get at the sub.





Pulled the sub out and removed all remnants of the pox ridden surround.







Replaced the foam with the ebay jobbie out of the states.



Back in the car and working well.



I've still got to put everything else back in tomorrow, but I'm happy with the results.

Best laid plans are by the wayside, it appears that I can't help myself and have already started modding the car.

Brake upgrade out of the way, consisting of STI Booster and 17/16 Master as well as Goodridge lines and new fluid.

Next thing will be the air intake that's on it's way...
