Tint 5% or 20%

Postby simonnomiss » Thu Jun 21, 2012 8:54 pm

Ok so i've been debating with myself for days whether to go 5% or 20% on my wagon,
couldn't find anywhere that did 15% as im in Tas, but just wanted to get opinions and photos if anyone has any!
I love dark tint but is 5% too dark? or is 20% too light?
dark tint will really finish off the black on silver look I'm going for, and as for police harassment I'm not too worried you can get away with a lot in tas!
tint has been stripped as it had 50% tint

Personally, 20% would be the go for me. Technically not legal, but a hell of a lot better than 5% (way to dark at night)

But other people may thing 5% isn't too dark.. It all comes down to the person

A friend has 10% or whatever the next one above 5% is on his falcon, way too dark, winds down his windows at night if it's not too cold...

Get a good quality 20% tint and it'll be black enough.

The privacy glass at the rears on the post facelift Spec.B is 18% and that is plenty dark. Just go 20% all round it will look sweet.

My GT has 15%, but you dont have that option.

The Outback has 20%. Im more than happy with that.

5% is way too dark.

not 100% sure as my girl got my windows tinted for me as a surprise but I think my fronts are legal 35%? And rears are either 15 or 5%, they are very dark at night and I do have to be careful reversing and merging but I am very careful 8)

I've always gone 15% and will be doing the same for mine, when I get round to it.

5% is way too dark

I'd go the 20%, however id go two layers of it on the rear windows and the back.

i just got mine tinted today, i did the side windows 20% and the rear window 5%

in my opinion, 5% isnt THAT dark, but its down to the individual to make the decision

i think the 20/5 looks sweet :D and you can merge fine, use your mirrors for reversing.
you can see out the back in the day anyway

5% = way too dark
20% of 20% = 4% = ok
