Cannot be arsed re reading the thread, but are you planning on e85? If so, a good tuna will get that to come on a fair bit earlier.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthr ... ?t=1613678 somewhat relevant. The 7760 is doing its thang form 3000.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

Yeh that's the main reason I was considering it, because of how quick it is to full boost...I think it's around 3500 compared to 4000 with the M7960...

But if it really comes on that quick with E85 I might have to make the jump sooner! I was going to give it about a year, waiting for more places to get it so that I don't catch myself unable to refuel...

EDIT: Also noticed he got 330hp with a stock TMIC...that is around 240kw atw, quite a good result. That would be around 220 on my auto...

why not get a dual tune, on for the corn juice and one for say.. BPUltimate.
leave a small netbook in the glovebox?

that way, if need be, you can simply upload a regular fuel map when there arent any E85 places near by and you need fuel.

i know thats the long way about things... but its worth a shot

SH30: this late model types can have two tunes as I understand it. Utilise the the SI drive knob. One side for 98, the other for corn.
Rome: I was going to say don't look to much into what is on the left side of the graphs, American dyno's seem to be a lot more flattering than their Aussie cousins. From what I read in that thread the 7760 is essentially an improved td05-20g, so if you were to do some googling on td05-20gs on ej25 autos you would know what you are in for. Then when it performs better due to the Tomei enhancements you can be pleasantly surprised.

I have a better idea.

Why not run two ecu's. One for each fuel. Easier to change than sitting there with a laptop reflashing your ecu at a servo

And prolongs the life of the ecu, as reflashing is still a bit of a black art so each time you reflash could potentially be reducing the life of your ecu

That's what I'm going to be doing.

Ps Rome I still have the ecu out of the 2.5gtb if you are considering the above ;)

How about a blouch 20g-xtr or the cbrd bbk-l rollerbearing (now called something diffrent has a red compressor rather than blue)? They seem to have slightly bigger compressor and exhaust wheels, we are talking 2mm or so here, so not much, but billet compressors and garret roller bearing cores. I know a guy who has one on a 2.0 and is planning on running it on a built 2.5 in the future. He knows it won't make over 300, but it will spool up stupid fast. Oh, and he still hasn't driven it, the first time I er, he will drive it will be on Wednesday.

Another option is the GT pumps GTPS02. Once again a td05-20g, but locally made. Mr GT pumps contributes a lot to other Australian Subaru forums and in one thread says that the 7760 and his gtps02 are identical trim. Might be worth contacting them and explaining your desired setup and preserving your auto. Oh, at it is $1600 bucks new, which is a win.

And tuner savvy types, would there be any merit in tuning for a more gradual boost "hit"? ie rather than have it flip to say 20 psi as soon as it can, have it go to 14-15 psi and then bleed up to 20 over say 1500 rpm in an attempt to keep the trans temp down? Or is tuning in lag just dumb?

All good options but I'm still leaning down the Tomei path!

As for keeping the trans temp down, if the transmission temp became a problem it could be highlighted during the tuning process and I have the option of going with an auto transmission cooler. From what I've read these can do more harm than good as too much cooling isn't a good thing, so this would only be if the temps are consistently high.

You're a nut bag but I love it ! Good luck to the "guy" you know.

Most definitely dumb in my opinion. Tune it as rough as possible for that raw driver feeling !

From memory Fast Fours And Rotories did a build up on a stock internal 08 Wrx Sti with a gtx3076 on corn gas and made just shy of 300kw atw, high 280's from memory. They ran the std factory boost control and had to ramp the boost up as the factory crap hated beeing hit with sooo much big turbo boost. So yeh it can be done!!!
Not a Subaru...... Something MUCH better

NOPE..... That's shit too. Bus anyone??
