can anyone lead me in the right direction when it comes to 6000k HID Headlights or even higher? maybe 12000k?
i would just like to know the cost for now, just adding up the cost of future mods haha

Send hks180 a PM, his name is Leo and he is the king of HID's and LED's around here. I have dealt with him personally and his service is fantastic. If there are any issues or questions he is always willing to help out, no matter what.

Personally, I would not go any higher than 5000k. Anything higher is way too blue for me, but each to their own mate.

I would say roughly 50% of members here who have aftermarket globes went with 6000k, so it's definitely not too blue. Looks white to me. Also depends where you get your globes from of course.

I think anything above 10,000k is illegal in Victoria too (check your state laws), but seeing as you are putting in HID's probably without a headlight washer or auto levelling, it won't meet ADR anyway.
Also after 6400k the lumens (light output) exponentially decreases, so getting 12,000k bulbs would look rice, and offer significantly less light output than your stock halogen globes.

ahh okay i have noticed that alot of people have been running the 6000k

There are also roughly just as many running 5000k. I'm just saying 6000k is not too blue for most people.

Personal preference comes into play a lot I spose! Colours will probably vary slightly between brands etc anyway

bad news.. took my car to the mechanic today, and it needs new brakes (even though they feel fine to me when driving)
so there goes $700 after the check up, fixing the gear stick slop and the brakes

i don't think mods will be on the cards for a while then!

should have told them not to do the brakes, then sourced your own uprated parts might not be cheaper, but you get what you want with a little added safety

yeah, i would have hey, the mechanic tried to ring me, didn't work because i was in a meeting, then rang my dad, who then told him to go ahead
