WTB: MY05-06 3.0R/R-B Front Bar

Postby jordankatsianis » Fri Jun 15, 2012 9:24 am

FML!

Ran over a bloody poodle this morning at 110kph, as a result front bumper is cracked and needing a replacement..

I have a MY05 3.0R-B, but a front bar from any 6 cyl model between MY05-06 can be used...

I wouldn't be impartial to the Spec-B JDM bar but I'm assuming that it would be rather difficult to find, not keen on other 4cyl bumpers though..

anyway it would be a great help if someone has one, or knows where to get one,

new or used, don't mind,

I also need the garnish that surrounds the fog lights, i assume that it all comes with the bumper, but just incase,

Fingers crossed the fog light on that side is ok, it doesn't work, but isn't cracked or anything, just pushed in a bit...

Anyway i would really appreciate any help

Cheers

Jords

Unfortunately,

me being just on 20 my excess is mega, kept me from paying over $2k for my premium for the year

so unfortunately not an option...

i did find a used r-b bumper in sydney on ebay, but I'm not sure they will send it..

i have a auto painter friend who will be able to paint it for me, so hopefully that will work out

thanks for the suggestion though :)

There is one on Ebay at the moment.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/200775522407?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

But it too needs work. Possibly less than yours if you ran over someones dog at 110km/h

I reckon that will need more than a new bar.

i had my lib rubbed by a landcruiser in the work carpark a couple of weeks ago
it's got a huge list of stuff to be fixed and a $1200 price-tag
it's broken the clips that hold the bar to the headlight, bent/ broken the support brackets and lower mounting points, etc

Oh...I was hoping the damage to mine might have buffed out - now that's a shame.

Was struck by a hit-and-run roo the other night. Thankfully it didn't hit the headlights, the car is drivable and the roo hopped away.

Anyway, Jords, if there are any parts from my bumper that might be of use, let me know as I'll be getting my insurance company (my excess is $250 - sorry Hamish) to replace mine. I'm pretty sure the fog surround, which I recovered, is fine. I was thinking of asking the repairer nicely to put on a K2 bumper for me.

cheers,

bj

have a go Hamish :P

i hit a smallish kangaroo last year (hit and run, i stopped and it was no where to be found) cracked the front bar.
i went and had it plastic welded and resprayed (i didnt like all the little stone chips) and that was $500 all up.

come to think of it tho, i should have just drilled holes and cable tied it back together so i can fit in with the JDMST crowd ;)

then, a few months after i put the ultrex lip on it snapped off fudging up the underside of my bar. i've got a new one from Import Monster waiting for me when i go back to mexico (victoria)

Well if thats an option Hamish, id def take that..

it all seems to be in tact, i haven't lost any parts, but the underlining is hanging down and i can't see any of the plastic clips that hold it on..

I have a mate who does the same sort of thing having a look at some pics now

fingers crossed,

because it doesn't look that bad, (i fear i might be eating them words soon though lol)
