I'm hoping some people can help me out by giving me any advice into an issue I'm having. I'm completely lame when it comes to cars so I'm hoping for some patience (as I'm sure some would like to make fun of my noobiness
I've got a standard my04 liberty wagon that seems to be 'sticking' in second and third gear. It also has problems as the engine seems to struggle/rumble (?) as a result. Also, it is very temperamental and with even the slightest push of the accelerator will jump back a gear and start revving hard. This is annoying because this is at speeds of around 70-80 when driving easy on straight roads. Can anyone give me some sort of ideas of what they think should be looked at (before I start looking for someone to help me on this issue).
Secondly, can someone please tell me if changing the car's ecu is a simple enough process (for someone who knows what they're doing). I'm got a 'hitachi' ecu when apparently I need a 'denso'. Someone suggested tuning may help my car out hence why I'm asking this question. Apparently tuning isn't of great advantage to the 2.5 libertys- would anyone like to contribute to this?
Any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time. Cheers.
