Tried S# ? Makes the engine much more responsive.

It's manual and I'm not even going to answer that second question Rome.
Dan in S# and any more there is a slight 0.5-1sec lag in the acceleration to compare it it is slightly somewhat like a misfire but it's not a misfire...hard to explain

A dump pipe and tune would be the ideal fix, or you could just tune the lag out

There is a fella on Ozfoz named throttlehappy that seems to know his stud re: DBW lag & tuning to remove it, where is your car currently being tuned at? Maybe ask them?

Ahh fair enough, can't say I've noticed it myself. Was quite impressed as my throttle response seemed as good as my old N/A car with pod filter and exhaust...

Ahhhh dump pipe and tune makes sense now that I think about it. Thanks for your help guys

Its just the fly by wire throttle. The wifes old 05 turbo auto foz had the best throttle response as it was cable. Ive got an 07 TB STI manual and there is still a delay, tune etc helps but its just something you drive around.

There is no delay inherent in DBW setup, it's all in the tune.

Yeah the lag is annoying when taking off esp when compared to my trustworthy Astina. I've learnt to put up with it and hopefully will get a tune along witg some mods further down the track.

i had the lag fixed by a family friends mechanic who supplied and fitted my custom short ram pod intake system. Unfortunately he wouldnt tell me how he fixed it as its a trade secret that he doesnt want to give out, but it oly cost me $50 and it is all gone and im rapt with the outcome

if anyone else is interested in rectifying this lag i can give you details for the mechanic just PM me

I actually went for a drive to try and see this lag everyone talks about. In S the car isn't as responsive but I wouldn't say it's the accelerator lagging, in S# there's no delay The only time I can really tell it's got DBW is in neutral when I want to give it a rev (to rev match or something). Then I need to hold the accelerator to the floor for a second to get the engine to rev up, if I don't hold it the engine only gives a slight blip. This happens in S# too. Wouldn't mind having that tuned out, not that heel toeing in the lib with big feet works

I know this is an oldish post... but i've noticed a similar thing.
If I jab the accelerator peddle, there is about 0.5 second delay before the revs go up. Confirmed by logging with an ECUdataScan:

Here you can see where I've tapped the accelerator peddle, and then the increase of revs a moment later..

I do have a very minor OCV issue (confirmed only by logs, not with physical symptoms yet), maybe that's effecting things slightly...
