So did you ask any of the local engine builders that build shit to replace broken 'mass produced' forged US short/long blocks about their thoughts? Or you asked a guy who gets it all for free on his opinion about it, 3 years after selling the car after 2 blown engines?


Anyway Im no expert and I wont argue the doctor has all the information available to him and is actually doing it. Ive had h6 turbo manifolds and all plumbing sitting about collecting dust for over a year now and cant be stuffed bolting it all on

And why the engine blew up, what was wrong with the parts or was this a tuning problem which caused the engine blew. I ask for detailed info, you can tell us what the local engine builder have seen or done?

And hey I dont want to argue at all, quite the contrary.

There is only 2 points I'd make.
No centre diff without other driveline changes will help more than car setup. A completely locked centre, torsen, etc wont help more than applying more dynamic and static traction. Diff locks, LSD's and torque sensing wizardry only work when there is a lack of traction. Fix the fundamentals was my first post.

No name random internals when compared to top end for minimal more outlay is a poor decision. The runs on the board are there.

The EZ30 is a weapon of an engine

Was reading a Street Commodores mag today and for what its worth was reading about one of the featured rides with a full house RB26DET, running 20psi and latest Garrett GT4204 or some part number like that. With all the whizz bang it showed around 390kw on the tyre.

Now, with 336kw showing through an AWD system on a stock motor on 13psi shows just what a engine the EZ30 REALLY is, weapons grade item. Imagine if it was lavished with all the goodies the RB26 people use and run in the 20 - 35psi boost range .......... just imagine hey. A BA Turbo hardly makes 340 at the tyre on 13psi either with a stock engine

Yupp sure enough EZ30 is pretty strong, 13psi was only for the drag strip and a bit of a last hurrah before we pulled it apart for some forged internals, but she ran on 10psi for the last couple of years and reliably punched out 280-290Kw at the wheels, but this is no mean feat and IMO achieved thru meticulous tuning, attention to detail engine management and factory ECU remapping. Just wait till the the forged goodies go into it we should be getting much better figures out and we'll take it down the drag strip 1/4mile again with some proper 1st gear launches this time and maybe some burnt clutch

I'm no engine builder (grease monkey skills only) therefore, have little to do with the build from this point onwards unfortunately so havn't had a chance to pop down to the shop and see them yet as I've been flat out with 'life' and the workshop is the other end of town for me. Will be popping down sometime later the week after next, so will let you know the condition of the stock internals post extraction then. Things are moving slow as Paul is about to send off the prototypical bits of the old 'stock' build to a company for H6TT kits manufacturing. Hopefully will have it all done sooner than later.

thats a big YES! the TT kit will be upwards of $13
and the SC kit, is around the $8k mark

and even then, that wont be installation or whatevs.

either way, if which ever boosted application, i think forged internals will be on the cards so as to run a higher boost level
