Both of which are available for purchase.. try sti 6-speed, LSD, seats.. still cheaper than losing the devaluation and better than a GT by miles..

while we are on seats...

any suggestions for a SRS side airbag seat?

putting in something without a SRS side air bag makes the car no longer ADR approved / street legal.

i asked about retro fitting the MY08 seats to the liberty, the seats are about $4K EACH, and there's no gurantee that it'll fit... apprently they run different airbag controls.

Hi guys, I rang around and they say that to get an exhaust system, they recommend for me to also get a ECU tune for my engine...any of you had this done before?

Question to yourself, will you be modding your performance aspect any more after your exhaust?
Do all your mods, and then tune it. You will most likely gain more power, and possibly better fuel economy (I don't know what the stock 2.5 NA tune is like).

What mods have you done to your car?

No exterior/engine mods as of yet just Audio System as I have 2 LCD Alpine Screen, 2 Alpine amps, I Alpine PLC sub and Focal speakers and Splits. Also mobile pager alarm system (mongoose) and Sat nav as well. So as you can see no engine/exterior mods yet...I think I will just do the exhaust for now and maybe lower the car and rims

To be honest I don't know if there's a performance gain to be made with a catback exhaust on the NA. Apparently, even on the 2.0GT, a catback only gives you 1kW gain...

my catback was not so much KW gain, but more torque, better power across the range, not peak power.

an ecu tune on the NA is vital of you want a decent (3~5KW) increase in power as it's the ignition on the NA tht dols it back, not the air/fuel.

some simple maths for you:

turbo kit from AVO (based on their kit for the impreza RS) : 7.5K
STi 6 speed box: 6K
rear LSD: 1K
Alloy lower arms (F): $1.2K (that's what tangcla paid for his)
leather tim: 5K (i'm guessing)
power seats: NFI

that's 20.7K. off the top of my head, price difference between a GTb and base model NA is 24K.

yes, i know you can get the thing i've listed for less that what i've said, but consider this:

AVO kit comes with engineering cert. ie: road legal.
STi Box price is installed, but USED.
rear LSD... this has been openly debated if the stock or after market one is better... the stock NA is 4.11, GT is 4.44 (off the top of my head)
leather: well, really up to you.
power seats: again, up to you.

unless you want to build a moster of a car by building it from the ground up, the GT might be a better option.

still if u want a projest car, be it over a couple of years..it would be my way to go also.

could even get a spare block to build it onto..EJ20 blocks r common as bat shit on a cave floor.

Better still make it a 2.35L by usin 2.2L pistons, bettin slight bore job, with the 2.5L crank!!

I think i feel a project comin on....
I Swear to God officer my Cruise Control was Stuck!! :D :D
