Best tyre on 18x8.5 rims

According to all the guides I read they recommend a min offset of + 45. The rims I all ready have so there is nothing I can do about the offset now unfortunatly. Just have to see how it goes once they are on.

hmm deff going to be very close, can't believe there are no posts with people using rota gravels and a 245/35 tire on here lol. Did appear in that post he was on lowered coilovers so maybe i might get away with it on standard suspension..... one way to find out.

Well if your car is higher you have a better chance but if it too high it won't look good (in my opinion).

If ou google for Subaru legacy 245 tyres or something you might be able to find more info on legacygt.com or nasoic.com or somewhere.

Coilovers give you more clearance on the inside though. But at that offset you shouldn't need more inside clearance

Although u have already purchased ur tyres I'm running 225/40s Nitto Neogens very happy with these tyres so far very little road noise and very grippy.
I was in the same boat my rims are 18x8 with a +42 offset I was researching too and couldn't find a feasible solution online whether I could go 235 or 225 on my stock suspension my solution
Find a friend with similar wheels and trial fit them on ur car I did that I used T.Renshaw34's rims he's running 245/40s on a 18x8.5 +44 offset rim
I was concerned with rubbing on the inside (on the suspension) and after fitting the wider rim with wider tyres I was convinced I would have no problem fitting 235s but I ended up ordering 225s
My 225s sit flush on the front no poke but I think 235s would poke a little
And u r correct in saying that 235s are cheaper than 225s I found the same thing when I was researching

That's for the detailed info man, I ended getting the 235/35 18 just to be different. They fit fine and grip like a motha! the only thing is they do rub on my intercooler piping at full lock. I also put some low king springs in the front because it sat a little to high. All in all a good job.
