How many is too many?

Postby Bezzza » Tue May 15, 2012 4:20 pm

Hi all,

I am currently looking at upgrading my 08 standard wagon to a 07/08 GT-B Spec.

Now there are a few floating around that i have seen and am interested in. They are in the 75-85 thousand kms range and $27-30 thousand dollar mark.

What i am asking is do you think this is too many kms for the price? From my research it's farely reasonable price to be paying just wanting everyones thoughts in terms of what they have bought/paid for there own.

I will be keeping the car for many years to come so re-sale value isn't a huge thing for me to consider.

Thanks :good:

I think you'll find this topic has been covered many times before, and the general consensus is that as long as the car has a good service history, appears to be in good nick, and you get it inspected before purchase it should be fine.

75k traveled on a car that is 4- 5 years old is nothing.
The lower the km's doesn't always mean better the car.

I was lucky to pick mine up with 48,000km for $27k last August only cos the previous owner already had a deal lined up on another car for the same price.
Since that time, the odo now says 65,000km. Full log books, full service history, I'm only the 2nd owner. Mind you, I searched high and low for 4 or so months straight before I bought mine.

Realistically I should of paid $30k plus.. some were 32k - 34k with even up to 90,000km on it.

As said as long as it's been looked after, have it inspected before hand and it comes back 100%, there is nothing absolutely nothing to worry about.

Pay a bit more and buy my tb sti wags :)

80K km is average for 4 years. Id suggest having a full service history with a reputable mechanic is more important.

I wish Ollie! If I had the coin I probably would :p

Definitly be getting an independent appraisal of the car as nothing I have found is in WA (all over east).

Some people are dreaming with their prices and kms!

Thanks guys appreciate the input, hopefully can get something lined up :D

Bring on the boost!!! Haha
