Love that AOS!
Is it a specific Liberty/Legacy part or do they fit all models?
Does one require a spanner to top up the oil?

Mark take another look at where that AOS is sitting in the photo.

It's not a specific Legacy/Liberty part. The kit that our cars need is for the 08+WRX & LGT. I think the difference is the actual bits of hose and connectors.

And yes you do need a spanner to top up the oil but the nut from memory is the same as a wheel nut spanner size. Or is for cars without lock nuts. You can check it out on dyno day.

Car looks great Bruce (and mighty clean). However, if you did contemplate changing brakes though, silver to match the body work might be an option an would provide a nice contrast against the dark STI wheels. :D
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

Hey Kieran,

Maybe you can tell me why one would want to "top up the oil" in the AOS?

And apologies for the noob question that I did not think needed to be asked!

And more apologies for the off topic bit Bruce. Nice AOS install anyway. I was looking for a version for the 3.0R but apparently the plumbing is more complex and Grimmspeed does not make a version for the 3.0R. I have done several searches looking at other manufacturers but did not find one for the 3.0R. DId you find any other mention for the 3.0R in your research of the AOS?

I actually thought Ben was having a laugh at us and posing a ""noob"" question to remain consistent with his form to date. But given the time and effort he is putting in, I don't think he can play the noob form bit much longer.
No disrespect from me intended and just try to check his form.

The AOS replaces the oil cap, as can be seen in the photo.

Car is looking good Bruce.

Just asking because I'd like to use this style of AOS, perhaps in conjunction with the IxizAOSep.
...and Bruce is very gentle with n00bs :D

@ MH3.0R: As long as you can get to the crank case and cam cover ventilation hoses, you should be able to plumb them into any AOS system/s...

im not a fan of the grimspeed aos yes they are more legal but i dont want the crap oil thats found itself up in those pipes that often has water vapor, sludge and possible carbon getting back to my engine oil, mine is a stand along unit that i have to drain and last time i drained it all that came out was a little moisture and not much oil in that at all, there is no way id want that crap back in my oil

DING DING DING!!!!

FARKING THANK YOU GB! I had a massive argument with Bruce about this.... 8)

It's called a catch can for a reason....

AOS is a bling factor.....not a catch can/separator...

In order of preference, any blow-by would be directed towards:

1. A stand alone cannister.
2. The sump.
3. On top of your breakfast cereal.
4. The intake charge.
5. Your eyes.

So Bruce's setup is the second best and 99% of cars on here have the second worst.
