Water in spare tire well

Postby kiko.man » Wed Apr 25, 2012 8:46 pm

Hi guys, I just found out last night that my spare tire well was filled with about an inch of water.

Now I'm trying to source the leak, would anyone know where to start looking or how it could've went in there?

Thanks!

or, just pour water all over your rear window and boot, open the boot and have a look. Hamish's way takes too long :)

Or shove someone in the boot with a torch while you hose the boot are and hope the find the leak before they suffocate.

Could kill 2 birds with 1 stone here. 1) Find the leak 2) Revenge for all those birthday / Christmas / gifts brought back from holidays that family in law have given to you over the years :)

In the old commodores it is from the rear quater glass window. you have to reseal it.
Not sure about the libs but in the commodore you have to pull the rear seat out to get to it.
Sad Face that the liberty has the same prob

I'll see if I can find a leak around the quarter windows but what did you use to reseal the leak?

I've recently washed the rear half of the car to see where the leaks were coming from and the spare tire well was bone dry.

I'm going to wash the front half but I don't know how the water would travel all the way into the spare tire well from there.

Possibly sunroof leak? Not sure if the water channels go towards the front or rear of the car though.
