How do they change the offset, shave some metal off?

I had 235/35/19 fitted today and they fit nicely (+35 offset though). I will still roll the guards though to allow for a little lower ride height. After seeing that I'm happy not to have the hassle of 245s as I don't think rolling would have cut it.

However the move to 19s as highlighted my front fender gap. Now I need coil overs ASAP.

[EDIT] Due to my retardo rim measurement skills I now find out I actually have 7.5 +45 with 235s.

They reface the wheel mounting surface, so yes, they shave off metal.

Part of the reason I am getting them:-)

I really want some of the damd fenders. I thought they are only 4mm wider? But at like $800 or something they are not cheap.

$350 is what just the front guards would cost to re shape and re paint by a good panel shop.

This idea would have been wayyyyyyy more useful 12 moths ago when modding started. It's near pointless if you think your coming to an end in my shed. But hey, why not anyway!

Update time:
Cusco gear is finally on the way. Had a chat with phat this week. Poor man has been awfully unwell. Has been over working himself but I do not blame him for it. Wait till you see what he is building :D.

eBay Parker LEDs died, Leo has some of his on the way.

Track day in 2 weeks (Friday 4th) going along with the rslib club. Hoping to get the cusco bracing on next Sunday. (29th)

Work today: (Sunday 22nd April)
Was up at Karl's again checking over a few little things today. Karl found one of the radiator hoses was worn and swelling when the car was running. Replacing this week before track time.

Build is going to start to slow down now unfortunatly.
Car has had a massive last 6 months. Had the grandpar pass away resently, doing some minor house work that will keep me busy for a few months. (house a coat of paint inside n out. re doing the shed. Building mum a new laundry and kitchen.)

Have a endless list of little things I want to get sorted.

Good news is I'm joining Mick in the 6 speed conversion. After a nice chat this week I Don't think the 5 speed is going to handle 300kw.
Don't have someone to do the Swap though. SnJ yes but they will be asking a x,xxx type of number. Karl is pushing me away but we are early early days. (he has already said yes, just doesn't know it yet).

Not sure what to do about the 2.0... Fill the existing ej208 with bling, Whack a built 2.5 bottom end on, Bore the 2.0 out to a 2.2 (Im a fan of this one) but Thats where my plans turn to a round a bout.

Which ever way I go I have a hard year worth of saving to do.

Good to hear mate - should be fun. I'll be posting a full write up once my conversion is done hopefully for those who are keen. I'm sure there are going to be plenty of curse moments which I can hopefully eliminate for those wanting to complete the conversion in future.

If you can land all the hardware for a decent price it should be ok.

In terms of your motor, firstly it's nt an ej208, it's an ej20y - might make it hard for you to order parts if you had the wrong engine number :P

Secondly, any configuration of 2.0, 2.2 or 2.5 can get you to 300atw but it's a matter of how you want to do it - ie low down torque, revs, combo of both. IMO there is no replacement for displacement or boost. So get the cubes in there lol.

Good luck with the house reno's in the meatime.
