Just picked up an 05' Liberty GT =)

Finally!
After a year or so of day dreaming, I have my very own GT wagon.

Just thought id say g'day to everyone. My name is Tom and I live in Brisbane.

Just got back from a bit of a "test run" and boy am I impressed with the 2.0L Turbo 5MT.

Initially I wanted to get some sort of exhaust to show of the old boxer but I must admit, the stock exhaust is so nice and quiet, even above 6000rpm that I might just keep it stock.

First mod will be...... replacing the 05 Mcintosh with the Pioneer Appradio 2 when it comes out in Aus.
Does anyone know of an alternative to buying the $400+ JDM AV kit?

Anyway, its nice to meet you all. There are some amazing Liberty's on this forum.

Welcome mate. Good to have another qld member on board.

There really isn't any other option as for the stereo double din fascia when fitting after market.. You can get a cheap bit of acrylic from eBay which will cover the hole but is quite a rough look.. I have one on my car and I am very unhappy with how it sits.. I'll be purchasing a fascia kit in the near future.

As for the exhaust you will find the 05gt has equal length headers due to the Twinscroll setup so you won't get much if any boxer rumble from a louder exhaust

Good luck and happy modding

I hope you are aware that the speaker wiring only goes to the amplifier under the passenger seat.
You'll need to run some extra wiring, or some special interfacing to keep using the McIntosh amp.

Ahhh I was thinking the wiring is going to be a big job.
I also found that spot for a 12v socket in the rear of the wagon, I'll try and wire that in too.

Hopefully it's not a massive job :)
