Actually, Simon, it wasn't so much being patient for a purchase as waiting for a sale. I wasn't going to sell unless I got top dollar (because I really didn't want to sell) and, well, a good car just happened to present itself at the same time.

As it turned out, the car was misdescribed on carsales as a non-SpecB MY05; Subaru confirmed it to be a MY06 SpecB. I actually had passed it over a few times when I was trawling but became interested again when the price started to get silly. A quick look at the pictures and I quickly worked out it was a sleeper - something I confirmed when I saw it "in the flesh" and called Subaru about it. A year of being in the market helped me there, as did a couple of queries quickly answered on here.

Taylor, let me know about the next cruise - I'll more than likely be there. Used to do these with the BMW boys and always had a great time.

Also, Collingrove is just down the road from me (well, in a country sense - it's about a 15 minute drive) so wouldn't mind rocking up to say hi to some of you there when the time comes.

Ok - so here's a first pic - sitting in the carpark at work, it doesn't take long for the autumn leaves to cover things. Bog stock for now. I'll do up the things that have to be done, first (brakes, CV boots, lower arm bushes) and a couple of cosmetic interior things (small tears on the dash) then I'll work on the outside.

Might also get rid of those headlight protectors.

So, am I a team blue or a team silver?

Never realised there were so many different shades of blue/grey in the gen4 range, Violet, Atlantic Blue, Urban grey and the dark blue as well!

There's certainly a lot more colours available than there are for the Gen5's, that's for sure.

Let me know if you want the headlights still protected from stone chips etc but invisible to the naked eye : )

Actually, Hamish, it took me about 3 minutes to take these off - I didn't like them because I live on a dirt road and, in the 24 hours I have owned the car, there was already a heap of dust behind them.

What do you have on offer? I'm assuming it's something along the lines of a screen protector like I have for my phone?

Probably opticoat. It's more expensive, doesnt work as well but makes it look wicked clean. And a lot easier to wash.
