Whats it worth? Considering Selling.

Postby kiks » Wed Apr 18, 2012 8:43 pm

Whats it worth? Should I part out some of the bits?

My06 2006 liberty 3.0RB Wagon
Obsidian Black Pearl
Manual
Full service history - Two owners

Modifications:
Ohlins DFV Coilovers
Full brembo brakes. Choice of pads
Full kit of whiteline gear and many spare whiteline bits
18" Wheels (choice of a few sets)
Mufflers from TCP
Tint
All new bushes everywhere. Can supply or reinstall many of the stock ones for NVH if desired.

Overserviced in ownership by a big amount.

Everything in top condition, paint has a few stonechips but nothing major. Does not drink a drop of oil.

So should I part it out and sell off the ohlins, brembos, wheels, mufflers etc for maybe 5-6k or try and get 23 or so for the car as it is? Im not big on selling cars.

how many k's are on it? if its 100k or less, you could possibly ask for more as Obsidian Black, manual, 3.0L wagon's are VERY hard to come by...

Oh yeah...150,000km.

Yep the black manual wagon in pristine condition without crash/problems/warranty/etc whilst owned by middle age male who gave it the berries (hence no oil use. All the old ladies never ran theirs in = dead block) was near impossible to find, took me 2 years. Every one of them drank oil, was crashed, or had massive KM etc.

But the reason I look to sell now is that its a turning point for me. I have fifteen grand of spare engine, turbo, manifolds, gates, diffs, tyres, springs etc all ready to go in and change from perfect handling comfortable quiet gen4 into angry noisy uncomfortable 700hp monster. Seems like a complete waste of car to do it to with the v12 about to be done

I'll mull it over for a week and throw a thread up if it feels right.

Having recently been in the market, would agree with Simon and Al on the rarity and desirability of the car, particularly if it has low kms on it. 150,000kms, hmm - takes the shine off for me, anyway.

And I'd be interested in knowing what wheels you have on offer.

Now I feel like one of them vultures!!

cheers,

bj

In my opinion you should part it out... And sell the Ohlins to me :D assuming they would fit a post facelift sedan.

Parting out is just annoying though.

Dont know why KM's scare people. Its a timing chain engine, and a subaru. 150k in a gen4 is like 30k's in most cars :D

kiks, from what it sounds like, you might need a nice, docile car to hop back into after you'd driven the tits off the V12 lib! Plus, if you sold it and wasn't 100% on wanting to sell anyway, you'll miss it almost immediately.
