will 19x8.5 5x100 +45 fit MY09 GTb?

Postby dutch7 » Wed Apr 18, 2012 7:31 pm

well I've searched around a little and couldn't find a direct answer so here goes... I'm looking at some new rims for my MY09 GTb lib, they are 19x8.5 5x100 +45. I have King low springs on at the moment with stock shocks. Just wondering if these rims will fit or whether I'll need to roll the guards at all? also hoping my Falken 225/35/19 tyres will suit these rims. any feedback would be appreciated!

tyres will fit, will be some slight stretch

shouldnt interfere with stock struts on the inside
on the outside you will need a slight guard roll/flare

not sure how low your springs are but that may be an issue also...

I think they're will be considerable stretch with the tyres.

They will fit with just a roll...depending how low it is.

forgot to mention i have 19x8 rims at the moment +48 i think is the offset and there is no issue with them touching the guards, just not sure the extra half inch would make a lot of difference, i hope not?!
here is a pic of how low my car is: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QdVW9laLgI4/T46SeUiTrjI/AAAAAAAAAXM/unPsZKNGDlM/s1152/mycar.jpg

A 225 width tyre on an 8.5" rim will be fine, it will be slightly stretched as others have said but will be fine.
I ran +45 offset 20" x 8.5" rims with 225/35 series tyres on our wagon with H&R springs and had no dramas once the guards were rolled.
I'm eyeing off a similar sized set at the moment, so go for it.

Cheers,
Rusty.

The 225 will be stretched alot. I have 225's on my 8.5 wide 20's almost looks silly but that's the way they came I'll post a picture of the stretch.

It won't be stretched alot.

A 8.5" rim is approximately 215mm wide, so a 225mm tyre will fit pretty much perfectly.

Just ring your local Bob Jane and have a chat to them, they'll say no problem to fitting a 225 width tyre to an 8.5" rim.

Cheers,
Rusty.
